ABSTRACT
Dietetics students have indicated that experiential learning activities play a critical role in their professional development and preparedness for the workforce (Barr et al., 2002;Osinga & Keller, 2013). [...]when ND faculty facilitate extracurricular experiential learning, it can positively affect competency-based learning and student perspectives (Djalilvand et al., 2020;Knight et al., 2020). Leveraging virtual conferences and resources, offering clear structure and objectives in the virtual setting, and providing Zoom and virtual etiquette training are all practices that ND staff can perform to enhance experiential learning opportunities for students (Cridland et al., 2021). Additionally, involving students in faculty-driven or college-wide research can boost research exposure and confidence for students to pursuit graduate degrees. [...]it is up to the ND faculty to broaden their scope in identifying experiential learning opportunities for their students, even in the virtual environment.
