ABSTRACT
In this work, we report the initial development steps of a finger stick point-of-care device (adhesive bandage) for timely detection/screening of immune response to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. The bandage, comprising vertically stacked serum separation membrane, conjugate pad, and detection (readout) zone, aims to colloid-capture SARS-CoV-2-specific immunoglobulin M (IgM) and immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies from a pinprick (~10 µL) of blood in one step, and visually display results in forms of no immune IgM-/IgG-, early immune IgM+/IgG-, active immune IgM+/IgG+, and immune IgM-/IgG+ in short time (minutes). © 2021 MicroTAS 2021 - 25th International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences.
