Effect of Internet Celebrity Economy on Smart Manufacturing During the Pandemic

ABSTRACT
With the widespread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the popularity of live streaming and Internet celebrity endorsements have surged the demand for innovative production and the technology of the Internet of Things (IoT). Nonetheless, limited studies have addressed the impact of Internet celebrity economy on physical production and operations with smart digital applications in the context of Industry 4.0. The paper aims to examine how Internet celebrity facilitates manufacturing behaviours and incentivize logistics network upgrading under the epidemic. The empirical results show that the interactions between celebrity and consumer will contribute to the transformation to smart management manufacture and sustainable socio-economic development. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
