ABSTRACT

The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread worldwide and the mortality is high in severe COVID-19 patients. Clinical studies suggested that obesity is an independent risk factor for severe and dead cases of COVID-19. For COVID-19 patients with obesity, early evaluation of obesity-related comorbidities and aggressive treatments, including diet control, airway management, anticoagulant thromboprophylaxis, and management of comorbidities, are encouraged to improve their prognosis.Copyright © 2021, Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
