90 percent of HIV patients will show an oral infection at some stage during the evolution of the disease. The type and frequency will vary according to the stage of the disease and the degree of immunosuppression. These can be markers for the diagnosis of the HIV infection, to change the classification of the condition of the infection and predictor of the progression of the disease. Objective:
to characterize the buccal health condition of the serum-positive patients in the central area in Sancti Spíritus.Methodology:

The universe was the serum-positive population of the central area and the sample obtained in a simple random way of 13 patients. Variables such as age, gender, and clinical-epidemiological classification were taken into account. Results:
the ethereal group from 19 to 59 years old had the highest incidence, males were the most representative. Most of the patients receive anti-retrovirals and present periodontopathies. Conclusions:
the non-associated periodontopathies to HIV infection were the most prevalent oral manifestations and aphthous stomatitis was the main lesion(AU)Asunto(s)
