This work included 16 cases of diaphyseal femoral fracture treated by interlocking nailfemur, 12 of them had recent fractures and 4 cases had non union because of failed other methods of internal fixation. The average age was 32 years. Our cases were followed up for 14 months. All cases had solid consolidation before 11 months. Grafting was used in 6 cases. Seven cases were dynamised. Only one case had deep infection because it was a puncturecompound fracture. We concluded from this study that interlocking femoral fixation mainly in comminuted femural fractures has many advantages regarding union, rigid fixation and preservation of femoral length
