Avances y limitaciones del diagnóstico precoz de las infecciones invasoras causadas por levaduras / Advances and limitations in the early diagnosis of invasive yeasts infections
In the last years, the main advances in the serological diagnosis of mycosescaused by yeasts have occurred in the area of antibody and (1-3)-ß-D-glucandetection. Commercialization of the Candida albicans IFA IgG test anddetection of antibodies against recombinant antigens Hwp1 and enolaseare the most important contributions to the first area. Detection of(1-3)-ß-D-glucan confirms its usefullness as a good marker for the diagnosisof invasive candidiasis. The most recent studies suggest that combination oftwo tests to detect antígen, antibodies, (1-3)-ß-D-glucan and DNAwill beneeded to optimize the diagnosis of systemic yeastinfections(AU)
