Ethylene oxide gas is used for sterilizing the plastic medical equipments including the intravenous solution set. This gas has a neurotoxicity reported in the experimental and clinical studies. There are four workers who chronically exposed to ethylene oxide gas developed distal sensorimotor polyneuropathy. One of whom had deafness that has not been found in the previous reports. Motor nerve conduction velocity showed the pattern of axonopathy. Graudual improvement was observed in all cases after removal from the exposure to the gas.
