The cancer cachexy is an expressionto design the protein-calorie underfeeding related to malign tumors and can occur when the proteinsand calories intake is insufficient for the patientsneeds. Negative effects of underfeeding are numerousand well described, including anemia, hypoproteinemia, delaxed woundcicatrization, decreasedimmune function, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular functions compromising and death. Changes inmetabolism of proteins, carbohydrate, fat, minerals and vitamins are common in cancerpatients andthey are different from those of just underfeeding patients, and by this way making the nutritional therapya major challenge in the cancer´s patient.
