ABSTRACT
Acute tubular necrosis (ATN) is a serious medical condition characterized by the rapid destruction of renal tubular epithelial cells, resulting in acute kidney injury, given its multifactorial etiologies, which can include nephrotoxic agents, ischemic insults, hypovolemia, and sepsis. We report the case of a young male patient who presented with recurrent worsening kidney function with bland sediment that was confirmed with multiple kidney biopsies as recurrent attacks of ATN of unclear etiology, which did not respond to supportive measures but did respond to steroids.

An early evaluation of colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRCLM) is crucial in determining treatment options that ultimately affect patient survival rates and outcomes. Radiomics (quantitative imaging features) have recently gained popularity in diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Despite this, radiomics faces many challenges and limitations. This study sheds light on these limitations by reviewing the studies that used radiomics to predict therapeutic response in CRCLM. Despite radiomics' potential to enhance clinical decision-making, it lacks standardization. According to the results of this study, the instability of radiomics quantification is caused by changes in CT scan parameters used to obtain CT scans, lesion segmentation methods used for contouring liver metastases, feature extraction methods, and dataset size used for experimentation and validation. Accordingly, the study recommends combining radiomics with deep learning to improve prediction accuracy.
ABSTRACT
We report the case of a 15-year-old girl presenting with distended abdomen, left flank pain, and a history of weight loss. Computed tomography showed a large tumor involving the left kidney that was initially diagnosed as renal cell carcinoma. She underwent exploratory open laparotomy and left radical nephrectomy followed by chemotherapy and showed good response. Histology of the resected tumor revealed features of Ewing's sarcoma of the kidney which was confirmed by molecular studies. This disease is rare, particularly in the pediatric population, and this report will help better understand the potential disease course and response to treatment.

Primary Burkitt lymphoma of the central nervous system (CNS) is rare, with only few cases reported in the literature. An 18 year-old immunocompetent male presented with multiple cranial nerves palsies and was found to have a mass predominantly in the 4th ventricle of the brain. Tumor was surgically removed and showed morphological and immunohistochemical features consistent with Burkitt lymphoma. The patient responded very well to anthracycline based chemotherapy with high dose methotrexate (HD MTX) and intrathecal (IT) chemotherapy delivered by Ommaya reservoir. Primary Burkitt lymphoma of the CNS is a rare entity that poses differential diagnostic challenge with other small round blue cell tumors.
