A complication of brain injury in closed-head trauma is the subdural hematoma (bleeding beneath the dura). It can be acute, subacute or chronic. A subacute subdural hematoma appears days or weeks after injury. It is manifested by drowsiness, headache, confusion or mild hemiparesis. The causative injury may be trivial and often forgotten by the patient, above all in the elderly who have bleeding diathesis. The initial clinical impression is stroke, brain tumor, drug intoxication, depression or a confusional picture that is suspected due to drowsiness, inattentiveness and thought incoherence. The CT scan with contrast and MRI can reliably identify a subdural hematoma

Most diving injuries are related to the behaviour of the gases and pressure changes during descent and ascent. The four main pathologies in diving medicine include: barotrauma (sinus, otic, and pulmonary); decompression illness; pulmonary edema and pharmacological and toxic effects of increased partial pressures of gases. The clinical manifestations of a diving injury may be seen during a dive or up to 24 h after it. Physicians living far away from diving places are not excluded from the possibility of encountering diver-injured patients and therefore need to be aware of these injuries. We report a case of a young diver who suffered an episode of pulmonary barotrauma after a sequence of free divers to five metres, and suggest a possible mechanism (AU)

Objetive: the objective of this study was to know the characteristics of patients with vesical catheter and the correct indication of it. Material and methods: transversal descriptive study with patients with vesical catheter admitted and Internal Service during four days. Results: 88 patients with vesical catheter were included; mean age was 78,36+1,52 years old. Indications for vesical catheter: dieresis control in continent patient (57,9%), chronic incontinence by involvement of the central nervous system (CNS) (10,5%). 0% of the males had prostate diseases, 52,4%, Parkinson disease 4,8%, stroke 33,3%, obesity 20% and 82,2% were with diuretic agent. Conclusions: in our study, a high percentage of patients with vesical catheter had the only indication of dieresis control, we are concluding that indication of vesical catheter was not completely correct, for those patients that are continents, dont need vesical catheter for dieresis control, avoiding complications by the use of it (AU)

Exogenous lipoid pneumonia is a rare disease, secondary to continued aspiration of exogenous lipoid. Usually is a chronic disease, but also an acute form can be produced by massive accidental aspirations of lipidic material. We present a case of chronic lipoid pneumonia secondary to the continued aspiration of "nasal drops ".

The colitis microscopic was characterized by chronic watery diarrhea accompanied or not of abdominal pain. Present in patients of median age and the diagnosis was realized by means of the microscopic finds of a mucus of colon with an aspect macroscopic normal. They exist 2 types microscopically distinct, the collagenous colitis and the lymphocytic colitis. We referred 2 cases of each one of the types of microscopic colitis, whose manifestation clinic in common was the chronic watery diarrhea.

The olive tree has been one of the agriculture bases in Mediterranean countries with a great economic and social significance. The oil derivative from it fruit can be classified in different kinds according with their quality, being the highest exponent the so-called pure olive oil that contribute in unquestionable benefits for the maintenance of health, illness prevention as well as a better evolution when the illness is present. There are some studies that prove these benefits in pathologies like cancer specially breast and stomach cancer (colon, endometrium and ovary cancer too). Gastrointestinal pathology like peptic ulcer, cholelithiasis and gastric mobility. Rheumatoid arthritis decreasing it development risk and improving it evolution. Diabetes mellitus increasing insulin sensibility and decreasing blood pressure and atherogenic lipoprotein.
