[The content of phosphoinositides and their metabolites in blood components in patients with chronic generalized periodontitis].

The aim of the study was to evaluate the content of phosphoinositides (PI) and their metabolites in blood components to reveal the diagnostic value of these in patients with chronic generalized periodontitis. Forty-five patients (30 female and 15 male aged 21-55) with chronic generalized periodontitis, as well as 30 patients with no signs of periodontal disease were included in the study. The PI content differ significantly between the groups thus making it possible using them as diagnostic and follow-up markers.

[Comparative characteristics of oral microbiocenosis in patients with chronic generalized and aggressive periodontitis before and after treatment].

The modern level of knowledge on the etiology and pathogenesis of periodontal disease identifies microbial factor as the dominant cause of the development of aggressive and typical forms of periodontitis. The study involved 125 patients with chronic generalized periodontitis and aggressive forms of periodontitis divided in 2 groups. The treatment tactics was chosen selectively depending on the amount of periodontopathogenic microorganisms revealed by real-time PCR. In patients treated with antibiotics this amount decreased significantly resulting in clinical improvement and rapid remission.
