ABSTRACT
Radical anal varicotomy and a simultaneous intervention for associated pathology with a additional strengthening of the rectum sphincter incontinence in 97 patients gave good early results. The follow-up examination of the patients 2-8 years after operations has shown that they had no recurrences of hemorrhoids and associated diseases.

On the basis of a considerable material the authors make an evaluation of complex diagnostics of hydatid Echinococcosis of various localizations with the help of Casoni reactions, latex agglutination, double gel diffusion and indirect hemagglutination. The Casoni reaction is considered to be most reliable and simple among specific methods of diagnostics of Echinococcosis. It gave good results in mass prophylactic examinations of the population. The immunological methods of diagnostics of hydatid Echinococcosis are most reliable, the reaction of indirect hemagglutination having the greatest resolving power.

Clinical manifestations of thrombophlebitis were analysed in 363 patients in the postoperative period. Complex prophylactic measures of postoperative thrombophlebitis including paravasal injections of a thrombolytic mixture were shown to be most effective.

More than 5000 patients were analyzed and results of special examination showed specific features of pathogenesis and resulting regularities in the clinical development of vein varicosity. In accord with the new data the author has developed a tactical scheme of a combination of measures including reconstructive ones on the subcutaneons, profound and communicant veins. Remote results of the treatment in a group of patients were much better after such treatment. During 10 years of follow-up observation the incidence of recurrent diseases reduced from 22% to 6%. The invalidism was greatly decreased.

Results of omentoplasty of residual cavities of the liver are described. New variants of operations of omentoplasty following hydatidectomy and abscessotomy gave good near and remote results of the treatment.

Omentoplasty of the abscess cavity was used in 25 patients with noncomplicated and complicated amebiasis of the liver and in 25 experimental rabbits with an induced amebic abscess of the liver. The histological, biochemical and clinical observations have supported the idea that the omentum graft on the feeding pedicle could grow into the granular torus of the abscess wall and liquidate the remaining cavity including the formation of fistulas. The function and structure of the liver were found to recover within 25 days.

A method has been elaborated in experiments on animals for the implantation of the autovein into the injured vessel lumen with the aid of a specially made device for saving the transplant ends in the artificially made wall of the recipient-vein circular folds. The internal wall is smooth on its total length, has no weak points on the sutures, preserves the topical character and direction, and the vascular bed is less traumatized. The peripheral arteio-venous shunting made simultaneously due to the accelerated venous blood flow, reduces the transplant postoperative thrombosis to 30%.

The results of studying 475 patients with chronic venous circulatory insufficiency and 157 persons with venous-trophic ulcers of the crus are analysed. Exact determination of the segments of the primary lesion and the routes of the compensatory drainage is very important in the choice of the method of treatment of these patients. The object of the operation is removal of the lesion and restoration of the blood flow, which is achieved by thrombectomy in the early stages and by correcting manipulations in the later stages.
