ABSTRACT

A patient with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) treated with chlorambucil and prednisone developed chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) five years later. An association between the two chronic leukemias has only rarely been reported. In the majority of cases the CLL preceded CML after which the malignancies coexisted morphologically in bone marrow and peripheral blood. In this case we report a suppression of CLL related symptoms and blood findings after the emergence of CML. However, immunophenotypic studies demonstrated a minor remaining population of CLL cells in the peripheral blood.

ABSTRACT

A case of infantile myofibromatosis in solitary form occurring in Denmark is presented. The tumour was situated in the right inguinal region and had resulted in occlusion of the femoral vein and involvement of the lymph glands. The diagnosis is established histologically by demonstration of noduli of cells resembling myofibroblasts arranged in bundles and fasciculi. Once the diagnosis is established an expectant attitude may normally be assumed.

ABSTRACT

Various electrical devices are implanted for cardiac-, diaphragma-, pain- and musclestimulation. The stimulator/pacemaker can be implanted in locations, different from that of ordinary cardiac pacemakers. All electric stimulation equipment containing batteries must be removed before cremation on account of the risk of explosion.
