ABSTRACT

This study investigates advanced data collection methodologies and their implications for understanding employee and customer behavior within specific locations. Employing a comprehensive multi-criteria decision-making framework, we evaluate various technologies based on four distinct criteria and four technological alternatives. To identify the most effective technological solution, we employ the q-spherical fuzzy rough TOPSIS method, integrating three key parameters: lower set approximation, upper set approximation, and parameter q (where q ≥ 1). Our novel approach combines the TOPSIS method with q-spherical fuzzy rough set theory, providing deeper insights into data-driven decision-making processes in corporate environments. By comparing our proposed framework with existing multi-criteria decision-making methodologies, we demonstrate its strength and competitiveness. This research contributes to enhancing decision-making capabilities in corporate settings and beyond.

ABSTRACT

q-spherical fuzzy rough set (q-SFRS) is also one of the fundamental concepts for addressing more uncertainties in decision problems than the existing structures of fuzzy sets, and thus its implementation was more substantial. The well-known sine trigonometric function maintains the periodicity and symmetry of the origin in nature and thus satisfies the expectations of the experts over the multi-parameters. Taking this feature and the significance of the q-SFRSs into consideration, the main objective of the article is to describe some reliable sine trigonometric laws for SFSs. Associated with these laws, we develop new average and geometric aggregation operators to aggregate the q-spherical fuzzy rough numbers. Then, we presented a group decision-making strategy to address the multi-attribute group decision-making problem using the developed aggregation operators. To verify the value of the defined operators, a MAGDM strategy is provided along with applications for selecting a Cloud Service Provider and a Digital Transformation Vendor for digital transformation. Moreover, a comparative study is also performed to present the effectiveness of the developed approach.

ABSTRACT

Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) is caused by loss of function variants in either TSC1 or TSC2 and is characterized by broad phenotypic heterogeneity. Currently, there is limited knowledge regarding the role of the mitochondrial genome (mtDNA) in TSC pathogenesis. In this study, we aimed to determine the prevalence and spectrum of germline and somatic mtDNA variants in TSC and identify potential disease modifiers. Analysis of mtDNA amplicon massively parallel sequencing (aMPS) data, off-target mtDNA from whole-exome sequencing (WES), and/or qPCR, revealed mtDNA alterations in 270 diverse tissues (139 TSC-associated tumors and 131 normal tissue samples) from 199 patients and six healthy individuals. Correlation of clinical features to mtDNA variants and haplogroup analysis was done in 102 buccal swabs (age: 20-71 years). No correlation was found between clinical features and either mtDNA variants or haplogroups. No pathogenic variants were identified in the buccal swab samples. Using in silico analysis, we identified three predicted pathogenic variants in tumor samples: MT-ND4 (m.11742G>A, p. Cys328Tyr, VAF: 43%, kidney angiomyolipoma), MT-CYB (m.14775T>C, p. Leu10Pro, VAF: 43%, LAM abdominal tumor) and MT-CYB (m.15555C>T, p. Pro270Leu, VAF: 7%, renal cell carcinoma). Large deletions of the mitochondrial genome were not detected. Analysis of tumors from 23 patients with corresponding normal tissue did not reveal any recurrent tumor-associated somatic variants. The mtDNA/gDNA ratio between tumors and corresponding normal tissue was also unchanged. Overall, our findings demonstrate that the mitochondrial genome is highly stable across tissues and within TSC-associated tumors.

ABSTRACT

We demonstrate time-resolved temperature measurements in shock-heated mixtures of carbon monoxide over a temperature range of 1000-1800 K for two pressure ranges, 2.0-2.9 atm and 7.6-10.7 atm, at rates up to 250 kHz using a single acousto-optically modulated quantum cascade laser with mid-infrared output spanning from 1975 to 2260 cm-1. Measured temperatures were in excellent agreement with values determined by ideal shock relations, and the temperature profile after the passage of the reflected shock wave was found to be well-modeled by an isentropic compression assumption. Temperature measurements made with this setup are largely immune to effects of emissions and beam steering, making the diagnostic system well-suited for studying high-temperature gas-phase reactions of energetic materials such as octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine and hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine.

ABSTRACT

Divided-pulse amplification (DPA) has proven to be a valuable tool in scaling the peak power of diode-pumped ytterbium-doped amplifiers to beyond the single-pulse threshold for parasitic nonlinear effects. DPA enables the amplification of picosecond pulses in solid-state amplifiers with limited bandwidth beyond the single-pulse damage threshold. In this Letter, we demonstrate DPA of picosecond pulses in a flashlamp-pumped Nd:YAG amplifier for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, yielding a combined pulse energy of 167 mJ.
