ABSTRACT

Laboratory study by authors' method of human reaction of overcoming on electronic adaptometer in 30 healthy women-volunteers showed that psychophysiological basis of the reaction consists in acceleration of neurophysiological prosesses in functional system of the behavioural act (particularly expressed in analyzers responsible for overcoming of the obstacle and reaching the goal) and in formation of negative emotions of motivational excitation, manifested in an increase of situational alarm level and mood deterioration.

ABSTRACT

Using clinical procedures and psychological tests, the authors studied intellectual and emotional characteristics in 75 patients with nonpsychotic forms of psychic pathology caused by chronic circulatory insufficiency in the vertebro-basilar system. Psychic disorders in such patients included asthenic, astheno-depressive and neurasthenic symptom-complexes. Their intellectual abilities were somewhat decreased and psychic activity was lowered. However, poor self-esteem and a low level of ambitions observed in such patients resulted in subjective underestimation of their intellectual potential which should be taken into account while determining the degree of their working ability and elaborating therapeutic and socio-readaptation measures.

ABSTRACT

Using V. S. Genes' method of characteristic intervals 112 gradations of 36 different factors were analyzed in women under 40 years of the age with diagnoses of the depressive phase of manic-depressive psychosis (50 patients) and reactive depression (38 patients). The authors discovered 11 differential-diagnostic features relatively specific for the depressive phase of manic-depressive psychosis, and 13 features specific for reactive depression. As a result of a comprehensive analysis of these features a system for diagnostic differentiation between these conditions has been developed. This system makes it possible to diagnose correctly the depressive phase of manic-depressive psychosis in 78% of cases. In 20% of the cases the diagnostic solution remains uncertain, and in 2% erroneous.

ABSTRACT

The authors report of some results of an experimentalpathopsychological study of 100 patients with hysterical forms of psychopathy and the syndrome of psychophysical infantilism. It was demonstrated that there is an irregular intellectual development (according to Wecksler's method) which is described by the authors in the form of a characteristic "intellectual profile" and a high level of claims with inadequate reactions of selection, a high assessment of physical and psychic "I", with a low evaluation of the "situational I". The achieved personality characteristics are closely connected with abnormal behaviour and asocial actions of the patients.
