ABSTRACT

To our knowledge, abscess formation after laparoscopic Burch colposuspension using permanent surgical mesh has not been previously reported. In our patient a suprapubic abscess was identified 4 weeks after the procedure in which polypropylene mesh was used. Conservative management involving drainage under computerized tomographic guidance and antibiotic therapy resulted in complete resolution without necessitating removal of the mesh.
