ABSTRACT

It is found that chronic purulent and pyopolypous sinusitis in children causes activation of lipid peroxidation and endogenic phospholipases in red cell membranes. There are shifts in structural and functional pattern of cytomembranes in inflammation focus (exudate from the sinuses). Membrane destabilization was maximal in pyopolypous sinus inflammation.

ABSTRACT

It has been shown that the energy of helium-neonium laser does not affect the tracheal and bronchial mucosa and does not induce tissue irreversible changes under the dose of 358 J/cm2. The sufficient parameters for good treatment are: -4.78 J/cm2, the density of power--7.9 mWt/cm2, the power--0.6 J and time of exposition -1 min.

ABSTRACT

The problem of abacterial nephropathies associated with impaired calcium metabolism is discussed from the standpoint of membranous pathology. The data are presented on the similarity of the calciphylaxis pathogenesis described for the first time by H. Selye to calcium nephrolithiasis. The disease is viewed as the result of pronounced modification of the phospholipid layer of cell membranes under the influence of peroxidation, phospholipase activity and other processes induced by calcium-regulating hormones (parathyroid hormone, D3 and calcitonin). It is assumed that the clinical manifestations of renal pathology during calciphylaxis depend on the hereditary and environmental factors that determine the gravity of membranous pathology of renal cells. Recommendations as to the treatment and prevention of renal pathology during calciphylaxis based on the results of the authors' own experience are given.

ABSTRACT

The enzymatic activity of blood leukocytes was studied in rats with Masugi nephritis by means of the quantitative cytochemical method. Nephrotoxin injection during first hours and days did not produce specific changes in the enzymatic activity. Maximum changes were observed on the 8-th day when the elevation of the activity of dehydrogenase lymphocytes and neutrophils acid phosphatase was observed at the same time with most pronounced histological changes in the kidneys, the decrease of the complement titer and the presence of nephrotoxin and autoglobulin in the renal glomeruli. Later the histological changes became less pronounced, and the enzymatic activity decreased. In rats with proteinuria the activity of the neutrophil leukocytes acid phosphatase was higher than in animals without proteinuria.
