Detección y prevalencia de trastornos depresivos geriátricos en Atención Primaria / The detection and prevalence of geriatric depressive disorders at primary care level

El objetivo es estudiar la prevalencia de depresión geriátrica en Atención Primaria y la detección de los trastornos depresivos y de los factores que influyen, mediante un estudio transversal y descriptivo de la población consultante (262 pacientes >64 años) en un cupo del Centro de Salud Levante Sur del SAS en Córdoba. Inicialmente se les administró el Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), siendo excluídos 17 pacientes que presentaban un trastorno cognitivo (puntuación <15) que podría interferir con el resultado posterior. A los 245 pacientes restantes se les facilitó la Escala de screening de depresión geriátrica GDS-15 de Yesavage, el cuestionario CAGE de despistaje enólico en Atención Primaria y una Encuesta de variables sociodemográficas y de salud. La prevalencia de depresión geriátrica obtenida ha sido del 24,49%, con una O.R. mujeres/hombres de 1,61 (AU)

The objetive is to study the prevalence of geriatric depression in Primary Care and the detection of depressive disorders and the factors that affect it, through a cross study and description of the target population (262 patients > age 64) in a group of patients from the Levante Sur SAS Health Center in Cordoba. Initially the MMSE was administered, excluding 17 patients who showed cognitive disorders (score <15) that could interfere with the posterior evaluation. The remaining 245 patients were given Yesavage´s screening scale of geriatric depression GDS-15, the CAGE alcoholism questionaire in Primary Care, and a survey of sociodemographic and health variables. The prevalence of geriatric depression found was 24,49%, with an O.R of 1,61 in women over men (AU)
