La interrelación ortodóncico-periodontal cobra mayor auge a nivel mundial debido a las periodontopatías y las maloclusiones, que resultan unas de las principales causas de movilidad y pérdida dentaria. A tal efecto, es muy importante la actualización de los conocimientos sobre el tema en el personal de estomatología, el cual debe poner énfasis en la potenciación de elementos teóricos que contribuyan a una mejor interdisciplinariedad, con el fin de garantizar una atención con calidad al paciente, quien requiere tratamientos más eficaces y minuciosos, acordes con los avances de la ciencia y la tecnología(AU)
The orthodontic-periodontal interrelation wins in importance at world scale due to the periodontopathies and malocclusions, which are some of the main causes of mobility and tooth loss.
