Programa de Farmacovigilancia en Oficinas de Farmacia: Estudio de Utilización de Moxifloxacino / No disponible

Objetivo: Realización de un estudio de utilización de moxifloxacino y de posibles reacciones adversas asociadas al mismo, dentro del programa de farmacovigilancia en oficinas de farmacia. Métodos: Miembros de los Colegios Oficiales de Farmacéuticos y del Centro de Farmacovigilancia de Aragón diseñaron la ficha-encuesta, manual de instrucciones, recomendaciones sobre el uso del medicamento e información farmacológica. El período de inclusión y seguimiento fue de 6 meses, manteniendo tres reuniones informativas con los investigadores. Resultados: Participaron 65 farmacias y 88 farmacéuticos de las tres provincias aragonesas. Se siguieron 410 pacientes con una edad media de 61 años, 49,8% mujeres. La posología habitual fue de 400 mg. al día en la comida, durante 5-7 días. Prescrito en un 73,4% en atención primaria, para las indicaciones de: neumonía (10%), bronquitis (12,9%), exacerbación bronquitis crónica (31,2%), sinusitis aguda (13,4%), otras infecciones ORL (9,3%), catarro de vías altas (8,8%), infecciones urinarias (2,7%), infecciones cutáneas (2,2%) y desconocidas (9,5%). 136 pacientes (33%) presentaron algún tipo de reacción adversa (RA), ninguna grave, de las cuales se consideraron probables 23, posibles 92, condicionales 20 y no relacionadas 1. El cumplimiento fue bueno en el 76% de los casos. Conclusiones: El seguimiento de fármacos en oficinas de farmacia es un método útil para conocer el uso real del medicamento. También aporta datos sobre sospechas de RA, muchas de ellas leves, que suelen pasar desapercibidas y que permiten obtener un perfil de seguridad del fármaco más completo. Se detecta un uso de fármaco para indicaciones no incluidas en la Ficha Técnica (AU)

Objective: This is a drug use study conducted to analyse the use of moxifloxacin and the adverse reactions possibly associated to its use. The study is included in a continuous Pharmacovigilance Monitoring Program in community pharmacies Methods: The questionnaire, investigator’s brochure, recommendations for the correct use of the drug and pharmacological information was compiled by members of the Colleges of Pharmacists and the Regional Centre of Pharmacovigilance. The enrolment and the follow up were concluded in 6 months. During this time, three follow up meetings were scheduled with the investigators. Results: 65 pharmacies and 88 pharmacists from the three provinces participated in the study. 410 patients were included, aged on average 61 years old, 49,8% women. The most frequently prescribed dosage was 400 mg daily at lunch time, for 5 to 7 days. The drug was prescribed by a general practitioner in 73,4% of cases, indicated for: pneumonia (10%), bronchitis (12,9%), chronic bronchitis exacerbated (31,2%), acute sinusitis (13,4%), other ENT infections (9,3%), common cold (8,8%), urinary infections (2,7%), skin infections (2,2%) and unknown (9,5%). 136 patients (33%) presented an adverse reaction (AR), none of them was serious. 23 of these cases were considered probable, 92 possible, 20 conditionals and 1 not related. The adherence to treatment was good for 76% of patients. Conclusions The Pharmacovigilance Monitoring Program in community pharmacies is a useful tool for the study of drug use in the community. It is also effective for collecting information on suspected AR, most of them non serious that usually are not detected and contribute to depict a more complete safety profile of the drug. A use of the drug for indications not included in the Summary of Product Characteristics has been detected (AU)
