ABSTRACT
Three pregnant and four non-pregnant ewes of the Barki X Merino crossbred were studies for pregnancy-conditioned differences in the blood and body fluids. The statistical analyses revealed highly significant differences in the plasma, blood, and red cell volumes. As regards the extracellular and interstitial fluids significant differences were found. From this it is concluded that by determining the plasma, blood, and red cell volumes pregnancy can be detected between the 8th and 16th weeks of pregnancy.
