ABSTRACT

PIP: The authors examine the demographic impact of the AIDS epidemic on a country with relatively low fertility, using Thailand as an example. They present a range of population scenarios up to the year 2015 depending on the severity of the epidemic. The results suggest that the AIDS epidemic could have a major impact on future population growth rates in countries with lower fertility levels.^ieng
