ABSTRACT

A system for implementation of steep massage in patients with musculoskeletal pain syndromes is described. The system provides effective medical care of patients with bearing disorders, scoliosis, osteochondrosis, and other diseases. The system uses steep massage and the effect on the internal receptors of muscles around the backbone.

ABSTRACT

A new photoplasmodynamic method and Elektroton-Pulsar hardware system for its implementation are described. The method provides treatment of suppurative wounds by exposure of the infection focus to a gas mixture containing highly active components: O*, O2*, 1O2, O(, O3 traces + UV, etc. The exposure is performed using high-voltage electric discharges interacting with the initial ozone-containing gas mixture. The photoplasmodynamic method and the Elektroton-Pulsar hardware system are used in clinical practice for treatment of suppurative wounds and cavities of various etiology.

ABSTRACT

Use of multifrequency impedancometry makes it possible to considerably increase the information value of electroimpedancometry for malignant tumor diagnosis. Integral characteristics of the tissue electrical impedance vs. frequency curves Z(f) in normal and pathological states are used to obtain additional diagnostic information about the type and physiological state of biological tissues on the basis of calculation of quotients K(P). The number of these quotients depends on the number of diagnostically significant frequencies and integral characteristics Z(S). Ratios of quotients K(P) for the same frequency domains and ratios (and differences) of areas under the curves Z(f) for normal and pathological biological tissues can be used as diagnostically significant correlation parameters.

ABSTRACT

In many domestic treatment-and-prophylaxis institutions, the standard service life of the majority of medical equipment already expired. Further use of this equipment can become hazardous to both patients and medical personnel. Medical techniques implemented in this outdated equipment can also be rather ineffective for diagnosis and treatment planning. The method described in this work provides continuous monitoring of the efficacy of risk management in medical service planning and quality management according to the medical equipment status. Some probabilistic parameters, such as the coefficient of medical equipment efficacy during its service life and the medical technique efficacy level, are introduced.

ABSTRACT

The paper proposes that for more reliable resection of cancer tumors and involved biological tissues during a surgical intervention, the structure of biological tissues should be evaluated by measuring its impedance at two frequencies: 2 and 440 KHz and by calculating the polarization coefficient (Cpolar). Examining Cpolar changes in intact and pathologically altered biological tissues allowed them to be distinguished during a surgical intervention by employing an impedance electrosurgical apparatus.

ABSTRACT

The paper shows how to study the physical factors of electrophysical exposure, such as an energetic factor caused by high concentrations of high-frequency current and an electromagnetic factor caused by the presence if an electric field, and other concomitant factors in order to outline ways of designing automatic electrosurgical apparatuses operating more effectively in different lines of surgery.

ABSTRACT

The authors propose an automatic system for creating stable hemostasis for an electrosurgical apparatus, which includes a scheme to assess a pulse wave and its maximum and minimum values at the site of surgical exposure, an electrosurgical apparatus, and a scheme to obtain data on the values of the pulse wave in a given patient.

ABSTRACT

An apparatus for automatic lung straightening may be used in medical technologies employed in thoracic (lung) surgery in the postoperative rehabilitation of a patient. This apparatus may automatically (without a physician's or a nurse observance) maintain tension relief in the pleural cavity in the patient on an individual basis, which is required for complete lung strengthening. Its use greatly reduces the number of postoperative complications in the lung, such as residual cavities, edema, and empyema of the pleura. This apparatus is to go into quantity production as a cheap, expendable device to prevent AIDS and hepatitis.

ABSTRACT

The optimum measuring of power upon electrosurgical exposure is a highly important and pressing problem. Impedance values variable upon exposure are proposed to be used as a measure of the efficiency of exposure. The measured values are compared with the preset ones. Power supply is unattendantly stopped when the definite impedance value is achieved.

ABSTRACT

The paper outlines an original circuit of a basic electrosurgical apparatus (ESA) which is equipped with measuring informational transformers for automatic determination of load resistance (R1) and with a continuous memorizing device (CMD). Variants of ESA operating conditions are recorded in the CMD, depending upon the resistance of various particular human tissues. According to R1, one out of 8 areas of loading characteristics stored in the CMD is automatically chosen. A specializing principle for ESAs used in various fields has been proposed by using a basic model that has varying alteration ranges of R1.
