ABSTRACT

The pneumotachograph with a velocity head flowmeter and a linearization system has been studied. Theoretical and experimental results have revealed a possibility to design a multilevel pneumotachograph with the Pito tube providing gas output measurements at a wide respiration range while the slight flow resistance and the small dead space being maintained. It also allows for undisturbed data recording. Characteristic properties of a piecewise-linear correction may be used to gain the required accuracy in the presence of a variability of the following parameters: ambient temperature, gas temperature, humidity and density, electromanometer's conversion ratio, baseline drift, spreads in dimensions of breathing tubes, etc. Delta-unit designed for in-line recording the pneumotachograph errors increases markedly an experimental capacity and may be used for calibration testing at plants.

ABSTRACT

The authors propose a structure of controlled accessory systems that are intended to substitute the functions of different human organs. It is shown, that during controlled process it is possible to extract the value indicating the variability of the substituted organ activity and to use it as the control criterion.

ABSTRACT

A compensator connected to the section consisting of the pump-main line-operating member and including a pneumatic resistance and a flaxid non-elastic container enables it in combination with the feedback to maintain through the volumetric displacement of the gas, or changing the pump diaphragm position, the stability of the gas volume in the pneumatic transmission element of the assisted circulation apparatus. The stabilization of the gas volume in the pneumatic transmission element creates favourable conditions of exploitation and heightens the effect of the cardiac insufficiency treatment, expecially in cases of protracted assisted circulation.

ABSTRACT

Experiments on a specially constructed laboratory stand were set up with a view to determining power and dynamic possibilities of the translatory motion drive in the "Biopulse-3" unit when operating an intra-aortic ball-pump and also assessing the service properties of individual unit-blocks intended for injection, measurement and registration. Trial testing showed the drive to the suitable for using in the intra-aortic ballooning.

ABSTRACT

The development of outfits for ancillary circulation is oriented towards improvement and construction of new pneumatic, hydraulic and electromechanical actuating systems--units intended for an optimal disposition of pressure waves moving from the pump to the aorta, etc. An inference is drawn about advantages and perspectives offered by functionally monitored actuating units, as well as about the need for the pulsating stream to pass through the low-power side intended to pre-set the shape of the pressure curve.
