ABSTRACT

We investigated the effect of hydrogen sulfide donor (10(-12) mol/l NaHS--I group) alone and together with the reduced oxygen concentrations (5% O2--II group, 3% O2--III group, 24 h) on the biological processes of human stem cells culture. It was shown that the cells proliferation by the third day of cultivation in I, II and III group decreased 1,7; 2,8 and 4,2 times. On the 4th day of culture proliferation inhibited in I, II and III group by 29; 33 and 54% compared to the control. Thus, adverse effects NaHS enhanced by reducing the oxygen concentration. It was established that in all experimental versions rapidly absorbed from the culture medium amino acids: cysteine and cystine, serine and aspartic acid, valine and tryptophan, proline and hydroxyproline, which are involved in the synthesis of proteins, in particular collagen. In the culture medium increased the concentration of free amino acids of the three factions: arginine, histidine and taurine; glycine and methionine; alanine and glutamine. We believe that in the applied concentration of hydrogen sulfide donor in conditions of low oxygen in a gaseous medium incubation inhibits the proliferation and alters the amino acid metabolism of human cells line 4BL.

ABSTRACT

The respiratory part of the lungs was investigated in rats of 3 and 12 months of age before and after the influence of normobaric hyperoxic gas mixture (40 % and 90 % oxygen). We found the reduction in middle diameter, depth, cross-sectional area, width of the entrance to alveolus and the total width of respiratory bronchioles, alveolar ducts and sacs after 28 daily hyperoxic sessions (60 mines each). We detected increasing the amount of collagen fibers, the alveolar wall thickness and oxyproline concentration in a lung after breathing the hyperoxic gas mixture. These findings could indicate the connecting tissue growth in the respiratory part of the lungs and worsening of oxygen diffusion through the blood-air barrier. The investigated indexes changed to a greater degree in rats of 3 month of age.

ABSTRACT

We studied the effects of intermittent normobaric hypoxia (INH) on the processes of CNS functions and cerebral circulation recovery in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Altogether, 87 patients (from 8.5 months to 12 years) with CP were examined and received the course of treatment. Clinico-neurophysiological examination was performed before the treatment and immediately after termination of the therapeutic course. Patients were divided into two groups; age and sex distributions and clinical manifestations of CP were randomized. The comparison group was formed from 34 children who received the course of the generally accepted complex therapy (medicamental treatment, massage, Bobat-therapy, Vojta-therapy at al).. The main group included 53 patients who, in addition to the same therapy, were exposed to INH using an individual apparatus for artificial mountain air, Borey-M, made in the Scientific Medico-Engineering Center NORT (Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, Kyiv). Children of the main group were exposed to the dosed normobaric sanogenetic level hypoxia intermittently once per day. For this purpose, we used a normobaric gas hypoxic mixture (12% O2 + 88% N2). Each cycle included a 15-min-long episode of breathing with the gas mixture alternated by a 5-min-long episode of breathing an ambient atmospheric air. The number of hypoxic cycles was gradually increased (from one to three). The entire course of treatment included, on average, 10 sessions. After complex therapy the stable positive effects on the motor status were observed in 94% of patients of the main group (exposed to INH) and in 74% of patients of the comparison group (unexposed to INH). EEG examination showed that positive dynamics of spectral EEG components were in 70% of patients of the main group and in 56% of children of the comparison group. Doppler examination showed that brain hemodynamics was normalized in 85% of patients of the main group and in 59% of children of the comparison group. In the course of ophthalmoscopic examination, we found that the dynamics of indices of the state of the eye fundus were expressed more clearly in children of the main group than in patients of the comparison group (in 32 and 12% of patients, respectively).

ABSTRACT

We analysed the official statistical data about the morbidity in different Ukrainian regions, its copulas over is brought with the ecological features in the environmental contamination of age-old features of development pathologies, which result in the loss of capacity and country's depopylation. Cited data about the medicinally conditioned diseases and by-reactions after drugs introduction. The own material contains the clinical supervisions results after additional application the instrumental oroterapy procedure--the drived gas environment with lowered oxygen partial pressure in co-operating with the traditional treatment for the patients suffering with the child's cerebral paralysis. The positive instrumental oroterapy effects was shown on the motive functions state, electroencephalography dates, about the main brain complex activity from 53 childrens with pulsy. Drawn conclusion about the appropriateness of including the natural or instrumental oroterapy in the children's rehabilitation programs or for physiology regeneration in youth and adults.

ABSTRACT

The study included 97 patients with vegetative vascular dystonia and chronic non-specific pulmonary diseases exposed to artificial high-altitude climate in an Orotron climatic chamber during 2 weeks. Atmospheric conditions maintained in the chamber had the following parameters: partial pressure of oxygen--147-160 gPa, relative humidity--60-70%, air temperature--16-18 degrees C, light aeroion content--up to 6000 cub.cm. It was shown that the exposure to artificial mountain climatic conditions enhanced functional mobility of nervous processes and decreased the length of the sensorimotor reactions of the patients. Individual differences in the change of parameters being measured depended on the degree of initial functional flexibility of nervous processes.

ABSTRACT

We analized the objective a. subjective constituents which influence the mans life quality in the modern civilizated a. urbanized society. There are considered disparity of the efforts, in the traditional pharmacology treatment civilization indused illnesses and its results. Pharmacologial medicine appeared unable to stunt a growth of morbidity, diminishment of birth-rate and threatening tendency to the population Ukrainian diminishment. It is shown that in modern condition the three component biosphere model after Vernadskiy must be transformed to the five component ones because the correlation between producents and consuments substantially changed after the industrial consuments a. powertull polutants appierenses. For stabilization the health level and effective protects the chronic pathology it is necessity to compensate the deficit of the physical loading, negative influencing of surplus closeness of urban population and contamination of environment. Least risky direction of such compensation can be application of natural and instrumental technologies of biophysical medicine, including the kinezotherapy a. orotherapy, wich are able to promote resistant of organism to the unfavorable environment condition.

ABSTRACT

It was studied the stress generated potential (SGP) of moist femur bones of 24 Vistar rats-males in normo- and hypokinesia conditions. The mechanical loading on bone was evened 30-50 and 100% from animal body mass. The mechanical pressure was carried out in axial direction. The rats stay in hard hypokinesia for 28 days. In all experiments Ag-AgCl with a salt bridge from 0,9% NaCl in 2% agar were utilized (Cochran G.V. et al., 1989). It was set that amplitude of electric potential which arises up in bones at the mechanical loading depends on the level of this loading. However there is a certain optimum of the mechanical loading which provides the maximal increase of SGP. This optimum is in the range of physiology level of loadings. At development of hypokinetic osteopenia SGP diminished most substantially in the range ofphysiology level loadings also. It may be one of reasons of low efficiency of the physical loadings at development age-old osteopenia and slow renewal of bone tissue after hypokinesia.

ABSTRACT

In this work has been analyzed the potential of biophysics methods in estimations of the microcirculatory system. Capillaroresistometry, Computer capillaroscopy and Laser Doppler Flowmetry can to detect of the endothelial dysfunction in the patients with chronic hepatic diseases. This instrumentals biophysics methods may be used in clinical investigations for screening early pathological conditions with dysfunction of the microcirculatory system. The methods Laser Doppler Flowmetry is important for investigations the patients with others diseases and for dynamical monitoring by quality of the treatment. The purpose of these methods an objective estimation of disorders in the microcirculatory system.

ABSTRACT

The main task of the present study is to investigate the influences of normobaric gas mixture with lowered PO2 (90-110 mm Hg) on the bones metabolism in rats after hind limb unloaded (HLU). We observed increased the glycosaminoglicans (GAG) concentration in blood serum rats with hind limb unloaded in atmospheric air (AA). An increased activity of acid phosphatase (AcP) and tartratresistant acid phosphatase (TRAcP) in blood serum of rats after HLU was observed. The activities of the alkaline phosphatase (AIP) in blood serum did not change. An increased osteocalcin (OST) and C-terminal Propeptide of type I Collagen (CICP) concentration in blood serum, but parathyroid hormone (PTH) decrease comparatively with the control. The above mentioned biochemistry markers in animals after 28 days unloading in normobaric gas mixture (NGM) were more stable and in spite of the same procedure in AA, all dates were near to the controls.

ABSTRACT

Osteodystrophy models consisted in removing weight loading from hind limbs and rats' immobilization; disturbances in bone oxygen uptake were quelled by induced gaseous environment with low PO2. Unloading of the hind limbs for 28 days was found to decrease oxygen uptake by fragments of the iliac bone, and oxygen pressure in m. gastrocnemius. These parameters were unchanged in atmosphere with 12% of oxygen. Motor restraint of rats in hypoxic atmosphere leads to less marked reductions in oxygen demand in iliac fragments and oxygen pressure in m. gastrocnemius as compared with breathing ambient air.

ABSTRACT

Effects of intermittent hypoxia at normal pressure (NPH) on physical and mental performance were studied in 32 essentially healthy human subjects. The 24-d NPH cycle was found to increase the maximal aerobic capacity as well as physical and mental performance. Growth of reserve and efficiency of the main physiological systems stipulated this gain in physical and mental performance. The authors make a presumption that NPH can be a part of preflight training, a measure to maintain an adequate level of human performance during orbital mission, and a method of rehabilitation post flight.

ABSTRACT

Changes were studied in intragastric pH with the aid of micromethods of topo-pH-metry in 46 patients presenting with hypo- and hyperacidic syndrome exposed to artificial mountain air (AMA) therapy. The gas mixture containing 14% oxygen was formed by using molecular sieves. AMA was found out to have a significant sanogenic effect: it makes for acid production in patients with hypoacidic syndrome and reduces the above production in those patients presenting with hyperacidic syndrome AMA therapy administered along with the judicious employment of blockers, Hs-histamine receptors will, we believe, help in alleviating and dispelling the withdrawal syndrome.

ABSTRACT

Effect of artificial mountain climate (AMC) on functional mobility of nerve processes (FMNP) was studied in a group of 46 patients with vegetovascular dystonias. The most essential physiologically significant parameters of the mountain climate were simulated on the unit "Orotron", the general atmospheric pressure remaining unchanged. It is shown that the course of AMC sessions tends to increase the working efficiency of the brain and functional mobility of the nervous processes in patients with vegetovascular dystonias. The pattern and degree of FMNP changes depend on individual characteristics of this property of the patients' nervous system. AMC may be recommended for use in clinical settings as a nonmedicamentous method of correction of functional disturbances in the central nervous system.

The authors elaborated the diagnostic method of bronchial disfunction by phonopulmography and gas mixtures with different density (two or three times lower than air). Using this method it is possible to do quantitative and qualitative estimation of initial bronchial disturbances. It may be used for express-diagnostic in ambulatory and clinical conditions.

ABSTRACT

Chenophalk (chenodeoxycholeic acid) was given to Wistar rats, including intact animals and those with chronic toxic hepatitis, in daily oral dose of 15 mg/kg body weight during 11 days. Chronic toxic hepatitis was induced by 7 subcutaneous injections of carbon tetrachloride (0.3 ml of 50% oil solution per kg body weight) each three days. Chenophalk was shown to impair bile crystallization. It enhanced demethylase activity, elevated the levels of cytochromes P-450 and b5 in the liver microsomal fraction, and decreased lipid peroxidation just after injection. The agent normalized oxygen tension in the liver tissue, which had been reduced by carbon tetrachloride. Chenophalk caused disturbances in the structure of the liver and in microcirculation early after injection, showing a tendency to normalize the histostructure of the liver.

ABSTRACT

Pathogenetic and physiological aspects of hypoxia problems have been considered. An opinion is stated that normalizing effect of intermittent normobaric hypoxia (INH) with short-term respiration of gaseous mixture containing at least 10% of oxygen in nitrogen is based on biorhythm inherent in all the living organisms with replacement of the high functional activity periods by the periods of rest and restoration with temporary physiological hypoxia as their typical companion. It is shown that for numerous diseases the course of INH or sessions of staying in the chamber of artificial mountain climate normalize the state of central nervous system, blood circulation, respiration, hemopoiesis and immunological reactivity, activate natural protective mechanisms and increase functional reserves of the organism. Allowing for anthropogenic pollution of the environment and its consequences for the health, it is advisable to widely adopt hypoxytherapy and orrhotherapy.

ABSTRACT

The experiments were performed on Wistar rats with weight of 150-200 g. Antibodies were prepared by immunization of rabbits with pure surfactants of rat lungs and were intravenously injected into rats three times within 3 days intervals. These antibodies were shown to influence the superficial activity of lung surfactants and the alveolar lung cells activity. The low doses of antibodies (0.06 micrograms of protein per 100 g of body mass) stimulated the superficial activity of lung surfactants, while higher doses (3 mg of protein per 100 g of body mass) inhibited it.
