ABSTRACT
This commentary article represents the latest edition of the Biophysical Reviews 'Editors' Roundup' Series - a platform made available to the editorial board members of any journal with a genuine interest in promoting biophysical content. Each journal associated editor is able to submit a short description of up to five articles recently appearing in their journals with an explanation of why these articles are of interest. This edition (Vol. 15 Issue 3 June 2023) carries contributions from editorial members associated with Biophysics and Physicobiology (Biophysical Society of Japan), Biophysics (Russian Academy of Sciences), Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics (Springer), and Biophysical Reviews (IUPAB-International Union for Pure and Applied Biophysics).
ABSTRACT
The IUPAB Biophysical Reviews journal provides a regular forum, known as the "Editors' Roundup," that is available to editorial board members of any biophysics-related journal to contribute a personal recommendation of articles appearing within their publications. This latest Issue of the Editors' Roundup carries recommendations from editorial board members associated with the following journals, Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics, Biophysics, and the Biophysical Reviews journal.
ABSTRACT
This Commentary describes the June 2022 installment of the "Editors' Roundup" feature. The Editors' Roundup is a multi-author collective description of recently published biophysical research contributed by editorial board members of different journals with a bonafide interest in publishing biophysical content. This Commentary contains a series of personal recommendations for articles appearing in the following journals, Biophysics and Physicobiology, European Biophysics Journal, Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics, and Biophysical Reviews.
ABSTRACT
This Commentary represents the first instalment of a regular feature that seeks to fulfil one of Biophysical Reviews' IUPAB mandated goals-that of assisting in the international promotion of biophysical research. Known as the 'Editors' Roundup', this Commentary feature is a multi-author collective description of recently published research from journals publishing material across the biophysical realm. Although Biophysical Reviews is published by Springer-Nature, the source of contributed articles is unrestricted and can include different commercial and society publishers. In this edition we have article descriptions from the following journals, Biophysical Reviews, Biophysics and Physicobiology and Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics.
ABSTRACT
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is the pandemic caused by the virus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS CoV-2), first appearing in December 2019, continues to confound the world. In this update we provide insights into how some of the new mutant variant strains of SARS CoV-2 have evolved to be more infective. We also introduce our supplement of the special issue on the topic of the proteins of SARS CoV-2 in the Protein Journal, which follows this introduction.

We are pleased and honored to present this special issue for CBBI on the broad topic of biomedical EPR. The papers herein resulted from the most recent October 2019 EPR Workshop in Kraków that encompasses work from outstanding researchers in the field. Before describing the range of articles, we have briefly summarized the history of these workshops and the publications that resulted.
