ABSTRACT

In the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with acute CNS affections good results may be obtained with intravenous cyclophosphamide (CP) + methylprednisolone followed with long-term parenteral CP administration. CNS abnormalities in SLE patients can be effectively managed by parenteral CP in combination with minimal-dose glucocorticoids given for 5-7 years.
