ABSTRACT
Elderly people, as a rule, suffer from already cumulated auto-destructive behavior stereotypes contributing into such life pathology as overweight, physical activity diminution, inadequate diet, long-term smoking, increased alcoholization. In these conditions, early detection and adjustment of risk factors, enhancement of medical activity and health promotion awareness among elderly patients take on special significance for promoting effectiveness of treatment and preventive measures. In most cases, passivity and decreased motivation of elderly people impede development of preventive attitude to ones health.

Comparative estimation of clinical course and postoperative complications was done in 134 patients, operated on for diffuse and generalized peritonitis, caused by anaerobic nonclostridial microorganisms in 74 (55.2%) of them and aerobic--in 60 (44.8%). More severe course and enhanced frequency of the peritonitis complications occurrence, caused by anaerobic microorganisms, was noted. The studying of characteristic peculiarities of peritonitis permits to perform purposeful antibacterial therapy even when bacteriological identification of initiating microorganism is impossible.
