ABSTRACT

It is scientifically demonstrated that sitting or squatting positions influence various parameters of uterine contraction. Our comparative study of three groups of 40 patients in a lying or sitting position or ambulatory, demonstrates as did other studies, the advantages of the sitting position or even better the ambulatory position. We think that the patients must be allowed to sit or walk if they want and if obstetrical conditions are favorable, then they should be placed in lateral decubitus when the dilatation is almost complete.

ABSTRACT

On the basis of a personal case and a review of the literature, the authors describe the particular features of the association of neurofibromatosis and pregnancy. With the exception of a few severe forms of the disease, pregnancy is possible in the majority of patients with neurofibromatosis, although there is a risk of hypertension of pregnancy. The rate of abortion is a little higher than in the general population.

ABSTRACT

The authors review the studies which have been conducted on combination therapy with verapamil and beta-mimetics. This form of treatment does not appear to be wise or effective in clinical practice and should be rejected because the risks far outweigh the purely subjective benefits.

ABSTRACT

The authors report a case of surgical success in the treatment of a complex form of cervico-isthmial and vaginal aplasia very similar to the case reported by Klochkoff. They fused the two uterine cornua and made a new uterus which they joined to the new vagina that they had created using Bloch's method. The patient was able to menstruate regularly after the operation which achieved the desired result.
