ABSTRACT

The experience with treatment of 157 children with injuries at the region of the elbow joint is summarized. Depending on the age peculiarities of such fractures, their incidence, effectiveness of the most common methods of treatment are presented. The possible complications are analysed.

ABSTRACT

The author has analysed the results of the treatment of 214 patients aged 6 to 14 years with acute hematogenous osteomyelitis of the hip. The peculiarities of development of orthopaedic complications of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis of the hip have been regarded in the age aspect at various stages of the course of the inflammatory process. A classification of complications has been proposed. Among the causes of pathophysiological character contributing to the development of early orthopaedic complications, activity of of the contracted muscles and disturbances in haemodynamics in the focus of inflammation have been marked. As for the organizational causes, a positive role of early diagnosis and early sparing surgical intervention in the conditions of a department of orthopaedics and traumatology for children has been pointed out.

ABSTRACT

The author observed 78 children with injuries to the nerves. In 49 patients the injury was due to fractures or bone diseases. In 29 patients the nerve injuries were associated with the bone surgery (osteosynthesis, open reposition of fragments etc.) Peculiarities of the diagnosis and treatment of nerve injuries in children are described.
