ABSTRACT

It aims to show some reasons to castrate a domestic animal such as the regulation of the population offree-living cats or confined, elimination of unpleasant behaviors such as fighting, wandering behavior and sprayurine, mainly shown by adult males. Currently affects companies in the animal health sector, nutrition,equipment, accessories, expertise of veterinarians, publications, services, among others. But there is still greatshortage of professionals focused on this very special market, where literature is scarce, as well as theknowledge Furtado. The survey was conducted at the Veterinary Federal Rural University of Amazonia Hospital(UFRA), Campus Belém / Pará, with animals attended by residents of the Animal Reproduction Department(SRA), the cat from Bethlehem.(AU)

ABSTRACT

The pathologies that affect the reproductive systems are occurring more frequently in veterinarymedicine, because diseases are multifactorial, so may be regional variations in the incidence of certainreproductive abnormalities. This work was conducted a survey of breeding occurrences in domestic cats, theyparticipated in the Department of Animal husbandry (SRA) of the Veterinary Hospital, located at UniversidadeFederal Rural da Amazônia (UFRA). In the period of 1 March 2013 to 2015, 18 December was 472 catsparticipated in the metropolitan area of Bethlehem, they being 432 females and 40 males, which was related tothe factors of race, gender, and age. Most of the animals were stray animals and adult age group, mostlyfemales affected in different reproductive organs, with disease in the uterus and ovaries and occurrence as rarecases of cystic Dysplasia, puerperal metritis, stump pyometra, ovarian cancer and endometrial polyps. Inaddition, there was interest in animals to seek prenatal diagnosis of pregnancy of animals.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Was aimed at the application of reproductive technologies in goats is mainly limited to inability to crossthe long, narrow cervix, preventing intrauterine deposition of frozen semen Croy et al. (1999). The degree ofdifficulty in transposing the cervix may vary according to various factors such as individual effect, reproductivestage, postpartum interval, reproductive season, technical experience and other Husein et al. (1998). The studywas conducted in the state of Pará, in the municipality of Iguarapé-Acu, Pará northeast, at a private estate. Weused 12 Saanen goats intended for milk production, with ages ranging from 1 to 3 years, all identified withnumerical necklace and documented in animals individual. Os identification cards were created intensively withforage (Pennisetum purpureum) ground corn meal, water and mineral supplement will. The evaluation of thecervical opening degree was carried out by vaginal speculum.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Ultrasonography is a powerful ally of the medical clinic, assisting in the definition of gynecologicaldiagnoses and andrological pathologies. The aim of this study was to present the ultrasonographic survey of themain reproductive disorders of dogs at the Diagnostic Imaging Sector of the Veterinary Hospital at FederalRural University of Amazon from January to December 2015. Abdominal ultrasound examinations of 200canines of both sexes and different age groups were performed, and the data referring to the diagnoses ofreproductive alterations were recorded and tabulated in spreadsheet and organized in percentages according tothe prevalence. 887 ultrasound examinations were performed where 200 dogs presented diseases related to thereproductive organs, representing 22.5% of the casuistry. From the aid of this diagnostic method, it wasevidenced that the main ilnesses that affect reproductive system of dogs attended by this institution werepyometra and benign prostatic hyperplasia.(AU)
