Orientación sexual en adolescentes del consultorio médico de familia número 16 de Jesús Menéndez 2012 / Sexual Orientation of Adolescents from the Family Doctors Office 16, Jesús Menéndez 2012

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en estudiantes adolescentes, pertenecientes al Consultorio del médico de familia número 16 del municipio de Jesús Menéndez durante el año 2012, con el objetivo de explorar su orientación sexual y edad de inicio de las relaciones sexuales, para en un segundo tiempo trazar estrategias de prevención de enfermedades de transmisión sexual (ETS-VIH/SIDA) en esta población vulnerable y expuesta. El instrumento de recogida de la información lo constituyó una entrevista, estructurada y elaborada para estos fines. Previamente se adiestró al personal especializado y se efectuó un pilotaje que permitió realizar algunos ajustes. Se encontró asociación significativa entre el sexo y la conducta sexual en los estudiantes del politécnico y existieron mayores porcentajes de la conducta heterosexual. Se aprecia un predominio de homosexualidad y bisexuales en el sexo femenino. La media de edad de inicio de las relaciones sexuales fue de 12,5 años en el grupo de estudiantes del sexo masculino de secundaria básica (AU)

A descriptive transversal study of adolescent students who belong to the family doctors office 16 in Jesus Menendez municipality was carried out during 2012, with the objective to explore their sexual orientation, as well as the age of their first sexual relations for creating some strategies for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) in this vulnerable and exposed group that were drawn-up in a second phase. The information was collected by means of a survey prepared and structured for this purpose. Prior to the survey, a specialized staff was duly trained and a trial was directed to make some adjustments. A significant linking between sex and sex behavior, as well as higher percentages of heterosexual behavior was found in the polytechnic school students. Homosexual and bisexual behaviors prevail in females. The average initiation age of sex relations was 12, 5 years old in junior high school male students (AU)

Corea de Huntington: discapacidad que afecta al ser humano / Huntington's chorea: a disability that affects human beings

Se analizó la corea de Huntington, como discapacidad invalidante que afecta al ser humano y que ocupa en la actualidad un lugar importante dentro de las enfermedades causantes de discapacidad físico motora en el individuo; para su prevención es imprescindible conocerla y realizar acciones de control, por ser una enfermedad genética que sigue un patrón de herencia autosómica dominante. No existe curación para esta enfermedad. El objetivo de nuestro trabajo es profundizar sobre el tema, para brindar una mejor atención a las personas en riesgo, a la familia de pacientes enfermos, así como, educar a los mismos en las características de esta afección y su prevención(AU)

Huntington's chorea is analyzed as an invalidating disability that affects human beings and has an important place among the illnesses causing physical disability in individuals nowadays. In order to prevent it, it is essential to know it and follow control actions, as it is a genetic illness that follows a pattern of autosomal dominant inheritance and there is no known cure. This work aims at deepening on the topic to offer a better attention to the people at risk, the family of sick patients and patients themselves, as well as at educating them about the characteristics of this illness and its prevention(AU)
