ABSTRACT

In this study, an Fe-Cr-Mo-Ni-B coating was prepared using plasma cladding on Cr5 steel substrate. The microstructure, phase evolution and tribological performance of the Fe-Cr-Mo-Ni-B coating were investigated. The microstructure is mainly composed of Mo2FeB2, Fe2B, α-Fe, γ-Fe and MoB. The process of phase evolution in the coating was observed in situ by HT-CLSM. The Mo2FeB2 phase with good thermodynamic stability can exist in the high-temperature liquid phase. It also has a phenomenon of connection and merging and turns into different morphology during the plasma cladding process. The hardness value of coating was much higher than the base metal, and the hardness value of Mo2FeB2 (785.5 HV) was higher than the eutectic matrix (693.2 HV). The wear mechanisms of the cladding under dry sliding were primarily caused by adhesive wear, accompanying slight oxidation wear. The Mo2FeB2 phase has an important effect on the wear resistance property.

ABSTRACT

Vanadium-based materials have been extensively studied as promising cathode materials for zinc-ion batteries because of their multiple valences and adjustable ion-diffusion channels. However, the sluggish kinetics of Zn-ion intercalation and less stable layered structure remain bottlenecks that limit their further development. The present work introduces potassium ions to partially substitute ammonium ions in ammonium vanadate, leading to a subtle shrinkage of lattice distance and the increased oxygen vacancies. The resulting potassium ammonium vanadate exhibits a high discharge capacity (464 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1) and excellent cycling stability (90% retention over 3000 cycles at 5 A g-1). The excellent electrochemical properties and battery performances are attributed to the rich oxygen vacancies. The introduction of K+ to partially replace NH4+ appears to alleviate the irreversible deammoniation to prevent structural collapse during ion insertion/extraction. Density functional theory calculations show that potassium ammonium vanadate has a modulated electron structure and a better zinc-ion diffusion path with a lower migration barrier.

ABSTRACT

Rumors on social media have always been an important issue that seriously endangers social security. Researches on timely and effective detection of rumors have aroused lots of interest in both academia and industry. At present, most existing methods identify rumors based solely on the linguistic information without considering the temporal dynamics and propagation patterns. In this work, we aim to solve rumor detection task under the framework of representation learning. We first propose a novel way to construct the propagation graph by following the propagation structure (who replies to whom) of posts on Twitter. Then we propose a gated graph neural network based algorithm called PGNN, which can generate powerful representations for each node in the propagation graph. The proposed PGNN algorithm repeatedly updates node representations by exchanging information between the neighbor nodes via relation paths within a limited time steps. On this basis, we propose two models, namely GLO-PGNN (rumor detection model based on the global embedding with propagation graph neural network) and ENS-PGNN (rumor detection model based on the ensemble learning with propagation graph neural network). They respectively adopt different classification strategies for rumor detection task, and further improve the performance by including attention mechanism to dynamically adjust the weight of each node in the propagation graph. Experiments on a real-world Twitter dataset demonstrate that our proposed models achieve much better performance than state-of-the-art methods both on the rumor detection task and early detection task.

ABSTRACT

Harvesting vibration energy to power wearable devices has become a hot research topic, while the output power and conversion efficiency of a vibration energy harvester with a single electromechanical conversion mechanism is low and the working frequency band and load range are narrow. In this paper, a new structure of piezoelectric electromagnetic coupling up-conversion multi-directional vibration energy harvester is proposed. Four piezoelectric electromagnetic coupling cantilever beams are installed on the axis of the base along the circumferential direction. Piezoelectric plates are set on the surface of each cantilever beam to harvest energy. The permanent magnet on the beam is placed on the free end of the cantilever beam as a mass block. Four coils for collecting energy are arranged on the base under the permanent magnets on the cantilever beams. A bearing is installed on the central shaft of the base and a rotating mass block is arranged on the outer ring of the bearing. Four permanent magnets are arranged on the rotating mass block and their positions correspond to the permanent magnets on the cantilever beams. The piezoelectric cantilever is induced to vibrate at its natural frequency by the interaction between the magnet on cantilever and the magnets on the rotating mass block. It can collect the nonlinear impact vibration energy of low-frequency motion to meet the energy harvesting of human motion.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The Shanghai Institute of Biological Products manufactured successfully a new outer envelope vaccine for leptospira in 1978. It has been confirmed by using animal tests and a number of human body trials that this vaccine is safe and effective, However, results regarding serological and epidemiological effects of the vaccine in population has not been reported. The objective of this study was to evaluate serological and epidemiological effects of this vaccine. METHODS: From May 1998 to May 1999, an evaluation of the serological and epidemiological effects of the outer envelope vaccine for leptospira made by Shanghai Institute of Biological Products was conducted among agricultural population aged 5 to approximately 60 years in an epidemic area of leptospirosis, in Jingzhou District, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, China by microscopic agglutination test (MAT), cohort study, matched case-control study and screening method. RESULTS: The serological surveillance results of 77 students immunized showed that the successful rates of vaccination with the outer envelope vaccine of L. icterohaemorrhagiae sero-group and L. hebdomadis sero-group leptospira were 79.22% and 77.92%, respectively, the antibody geometric mean titer (GMT) of the two groups were 1:106.71 and 1:63.31, respectively, with 6.7-fold and 4.7-fold rises comparing with the group of those of the antibody before inoculation, and the antibody protective rates of the two groups of outer membrane protein vaccine of leptospira all were 100% at one month after immunization. Higher level antibody against L. icterohaemorrhagiae sero-group leptospira was still maintained at one year after injection. The results of cohort analysis showed that the protective rate of the outer envelope vaccine of leptospira for the same serological groups of leptospira was 75.17%, and the effective index of the vaccine was 4.03. The protective rate of vaccines obtained from 1:2 matched case-control studies was 81.25%, while that estimated by screening method was 75%. CONCLUSIONS: The study results showed that the serological and epidemiological efficiencies of leptospira vaccine all were ideal. In addition, this vaccine had partly protective effect against other sero-groups of leptospira.
