ABSTRACT

Using polyaspartic acid (PAsp) and bentonite (BT) as the main raw materials, a new type of degradable soil water retaining agent (PAsp-AA/BT) was synthesized by microwave radiation. The optimum synthesis conditions and comprehensive properties of PAsp-AA/BT were discussed and the structure and surface characteristics of PAspsp-AA/BT were characterized by FTIR, SEM, XRD and TGA in the paper. The results showed that the optimum synthesis conditions of PAsp-AA/BT were as follows: the dosages of polyaspartic acid (PAsp), bentonite (BT), initiator potassium persulfate, crosslinking agent N,N'-methylene bisacrylamide was 5, 3, 0.3, 0.03%, respectively, the neutralization degree of acrylic acid was 75%, and the microwave power was 490W. Under this condition, the absorption ratio of the synthesized PAspsp-AA/BT in deionized water and 0.9% NaCl solution was 953 and 164 g/g, respectively. The synthesized PAsp-AA/BT had a high water absorption rate, good water retention and repeated water absorption, and the degradation rate in soil within 30 days reached 32.75%, with good degradation effect. The analysis of SEM, FT-IR, XRD and TGA showed that: the surface of PAsp-AA/BT was rough and had obvious pore structure, which was conducive to the diffusion of water molecules; polyaspartic acid, bentonite and acrylic acid were polymerized; the cross-linking structure was formed between polyaspartic acid, bentonite and acrylic acid; the product of PASP-AA/BT had good thermal stability. This study provides a new soil water retaining agent, which is helpful for the better development of soil water retaining agent research.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the predictive value of BAT score for the prognosis of patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH).Methods:A retrospective analysis of 93 sICH patients in the Emergency Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College from January 2018 to December 2020 was conducted, and the patients were classified into the good prognosis group ( n=34) and the poor prognosis group ( n=59) according to the Glasgow Outcome Score (GOS) 3 months after the discharge. Clinical data such as basic data of patients, admission vital signs, laboratory indicators, National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) score and BAT score and other clinical data of the two groups were compared. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors affecting poor prognosis of sICH patients. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn to analyze predictive value of BAT score for poor prognosis of sICH patients. Results:The admission systolic blood pressure, white blood cell count, hypertension complications, emergency BAT score and NIHSS score of patients in the poor prognosis group were significantly higher than those in the good prognosis group ( P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that the admission systolic blood pressure ( OR=1.024, 95% CI: 1.002~1.046, P=0.035) and emergency BAT score ( OR=2.640, 95% CI: 1.445-4.825, P=0.002) could accurately predict the poor prognosis of sICH patients. ROC curve analysis showed that the area under ROC curve (AUC) of BAT score was 0.792, the sensitivity was 79.3%, and the specificity was 76.5%. The AUC of systolic blood pressure for predicting poor prognosis of sICH patients was 0.701, and the sensitivity was 55.2%, and the specificity was 88.2%. The AUC of BAT score combined with systolic blood pressure for predicting poor prognosis of sICH patients was 0.835. Conclusions:BAT score and admission systolic blood pressure could more accurately predict poor prognosis of sICH patients. The combination of them had a higher efficacy in predicting poor prognosis of sICH patients after 3 months.

ABSTRACT

H9N2 is the most prevalent low pathogenic avian influenza virus (LPAIV) in domestic poultry in the world. Two distinct H9N2 poultry lineages, G1-like (A/quail/Hong Kong/G1/97) and Y280-like (A/Duck/Hong Kong/Y280/1997) viruses, are usually associated with binding affinity for both α 2,3 and α 2,6 sialic acid receptors (avian and human receptors), raising concern whether these viruses possess pandemic potential. To explore the impact of mouse adaptation on the transmissibility of a Y280-like virus A/Chicken/Hubei/214/2017(H9N2) (abbreviated as WT), we performed serial lung-to-lung passages of the WT virus in mice. The mouse-adapted variant (MA) exhibited enhanced pathogenicity and advantaged transmissibility after passaging in mice. Sequence analysis of the complete genomes of the MA virus revealed a total of 16 amino acid substitutions. These mutations distributed across 7 segments including PB2, PB1, PA, NP, HA, NA and NS1 genes. Furthermore, we generated a panel of recombinant or mutant H9N2 viruses using reverse genetics technology and confirmed that the PB2 gene governing the increased pathogenicity and transmissibility. The combinations of 340 K and 588 V in PB2 were important in determining the altered features. Our findings elucidate the specific mutations in PB2 contribute to the phenotype differences and emphasize the importance of monitoring the identified amino acid substitutions due to their potential threat to human health.
