ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVEDiscuss the functional mechanism of treating male infertility with Bushen Shengjing pill (BS).

METHODFill the SD rat with adenine so as to injure the germ cell which will produce the model rat with kidney yang deficiency. Measure the activity of SOD and NOS, the amount of NO and MDA in the testicle.

RESULTBS can promote the activity of SOD, reduce the activity of NOS and the amount of NO and MDA.

CONCLUSIONBS has the function of protecting the germ cell which is closely related to the function that the pill can promote the activity of SOD, reduce the activity of NOS and the amount of NO and MDA.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Fuzheng Jiangan formula( FZJGF) on liver fibrosis using immune induced liver fibrosis rat model.

METHODThe rat models with immunity liver fibrosis were induced by the human serum albumin. Rats were treated with normal saline, FZJGF (9. 85,39. 4 g x kg(-1) , two dosage groups) and Colchicine (0. 000 1 g . kg(-1) ). The activities of ALT, AST, contents of ALB and TP, and A/G, The contents of Laminin (LN), Hyaluronic acid (HA) and collagen type IV (IV-C) in rat serum were measured by radioimmunoassay method. The level of hydroxyproline (Hyp) in liver was detected by chemistry method. The pathological changes of liver tissue were observed by HE and Von-Gieson staining.

RESULTFZJGF could significant decrease the serum activities of ALT and AST, and increase the levels of TP,Alb and ratio A/G. The levels of LN, HA and IV-C were decreased significantly after the treatment using FZJGF. The pathological improvements were observed. FZJGF could markedly alleviate the deposition of collageneous fiber, and reduce the liver pseudoluboli and the fibrosis scores in the liver tissue compared with model group.

CONCLUSIONFZJGF can inhibit formation and development of rat hepatic fibrosis induced by the human serum albumin.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo explore the protection and treatment effects of Kudan granule on rats of pulmonary fibrosis induced by pinyangmycin.

METHODIn asepsis condition, rat was anaesthetized by 3.5% chloral hydrate, inserted the needle above the bifurcation of trachea and injecting 5 mg x kg(-1) pinyangmycin normal saline solution.

RESULTFor model-group rats, after injecting pinyangmycin at 7, 14, 28, 56 days, there were mass inflammation cell infiltration at pulmonary alveoli and interstitial, the pulmonary alveolar wall and interstitial thickened obviously, and the pulmonary interval broadened distinctly. The structure of collagen fiber was destroyed, and the pulmonary alveoli disappeared. By Masson dyeing, there were hunk collagen fiber and the consolidation of lung had come into being. Compared with the model group, the rats of Kudan granule big-dose group, at 7, 14, 28, 56 days after injecting pinyangmycin, there were still much inflammation cell infiltration at pulmonary alveoli and interstitial, pulmonary interstitial edema and spotty necrosis, thickened alveolar wall, broadened pulmonary interval, and much collagen fiber in pulmonary interstitial, but there was not bunk the consolidation of lung. The curative effect of Kudan granule small-dose group was not better than that of Kudan granule big-dose group, because there were still bunk collagen fiber and the consolidation of lung in pulmonary interstitial. Although the destroyed area was more than 50%, it was better than that of the model-group.

CONCLUSIONThe big-dose Kudan granule show the better function of protection and treatment for pulmonary fibrosis of rats induced by pinyangmycin.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo observe the hematopoietic effects of Siwu decoction in the mice with blood deficiency induced by compound method of bleeding, starved feeding and exhausting and lay experimental basis under the blood-enriching function of Siwu decoction in different models of blood deficiency.

METHODThe animal model of blood deficiency was established by a combination of starved feeding with routine food at the rate of 75 g(-1) kg(-1) body weight per day, swimming 20 minutes and removing 0.4 mL blood every other day in each mouse. The amount of peripheral blood cells, the cell cycle and the apoptosis of bone marrow cells and the percentage of CD34+ in bone marrow cells were detected by microcellcounter and flow cytometry.

RESULTThe amount of red blood cells in model mice was significantly increased by Siwu decoction at different dosages, from 4.6 x 10(12) to 6.5, 7.1 and 7.0 x 10(12) respectively. At the 15th day, the percentages of bone marrow cells at S stage in the treated group were 14.34%, 14.03% and 13.58% which were significantly higher than that in model group without treatment of Siwu Decoction.

CONCLUSIONSiwu decoction significantly improve the hematopoiesis in the mice with blood deficiency induced by compound method mentioned above.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect and mechanism of BSDW on the model of allergic rhinitis and the model of guinea pigs by histamine shocking in guinea pigs.

METHODUsing the model of allergic rhinitis in guinea pigs caused by 10% TDI, we observed the effect of BSDW on physiological and pathological symptoms of allergic rhinitis in guinea pigs, the effect of the levels of serum IgE and serum and nasal histamine. Using the model of guinea pigs by histamine shocking, we observed the effect of BSDW on physiological symptoms in guinea pigs.

RESULTBSDW significantly relieved the pathological symptoms of allergic rhinitis in guinea pigs, alleviated the hyperplasia of columnar epithelium, decreased the number of monocyte and eosinocyte compared with the model group. It also reduced the levels of serum IgE, and decreased the release of serum and nasal histamine. BSDW significantly prolonged the occurent time of gasping, eclampsia and death caused by shock, reduced the times of gasping in the model of guinea pigs by histamine shocking.

CONCLUSIONBSDW has significant effect against allergy. The mechanism relates to its effects of decreasing the levels of serum IgE and inhibiting the release of serum and nasal histamine.
