ABSTRACT

Pseudophygopoda Tavakilian & Peñaherrera-Leiva, 2007 is redescribed. Four new, closely related genera are described. Panamapoda gen. nov., with P. panamensis (Giesbert, 1996); Paraphygopoda gen nov., with Paraphygopoda nappae sp. nov., P. albitarsis (Klug, 1825), P.  viridimicans (Fisher, 1952), and, provisionally, P.  longipennis (Zajciw, 1963); Paramelitta gen. nov., with Paramelitta wappesi sp. nov., and P. aglaia (Newman, 1840); and Phygomelitta gen. nov., with one species, P. triangularis (Fuchs, 1961). All the species are illustrated (including genitalia); and keys to the genera, and their species, are provided.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Four species are transferred to Clepitoides Clarke, 2009: Odontocera crocata Bates, 1873; O. virgata Gounelle, 1911; Eclipta picturata (Gounelle, 1911); and E. pallidicornis (Zajciw, 1966). The females of O. crocata and O. pallidicornis are redescribed. A new species is described from Brazil and Argentina. The five species are figured and a key to the species of Clepitoides is provided.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Three new genera are described: Ephippiotragus with two new species, E. wappesi and E. thomasi; Amborotragus with A. vestigiepimeron sp. nov.; and Tomopterchasia with T. sullivanorum sp. nov. Additonally, five new species are described: Acyphoderes amboroensis, Isthmiade mariahelenae, Chrysaethe lazzoi, Ecliptoides pseudovicinus, and Stenopseustes lingafelteri. All the new species are illustrated, and host flower records provided. A striking example of structurally different genitalia in two very closely related species is illustrated and briefly discussed. Ischasia cuneiformis Fisher, 1952 is transferred to Tomopterchasia. The following new country records for Bolivia are registered: Odontocera hirundipennis Zajciw, 1962 and Odontocera ornaticollis Bates, 1870.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Brachylophora, a new brachypterous genus of Rhopalophorini (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae). Brachylophora auricollis (Bruch, 1918) comb. nov. = Pasiphyle auricollis Bruch, 1918, originally described from Argentina (Salta), is redescribed and illustrated. Although with reduced elytra, the genus is transferred from Rhinotragini to Rhopalophorini based on the following characters: eyes well separated in both sexes, frons between eyes depressed and lacking frontal suture; pro-, meso-, and metasternum planar; mesothorax parallel-sided, not at all declivous before mesosternal process; metasternum large, together with mesosternum twice length of prosternum, metepisternum very wide, entire suture separating it from metasternum clearly visible when viewed from below; female ovipositor shortened with short cylindrical styles; and, more generally, structural features of hind legs, and surface ornamentation. Habitus similar to Coremia group. Bolivian specimens were netted as they visited flowers of Croton sp. (Euphorbiaceae).

Brachylophora, gênero braquíptero de Rhopalophorini (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae). Brachylophora auricollis (Bruch, 1918) comb. nov. Habitus semelhante do grupo Coremia. Os exemplares da Bolívia foram coletados quanto estavam visitando as flores de Croton sp. (Euphorbiaceae).
