ABSTRACT
PART A: There will be an introduction to the theory of radiowaves and discussion on the differences between diathermy and radio frequency. slide demonstration will be done to cover the above. PART B: I shall show an appropriate number of slides demonstrating the use of radiosurgical unit on lid tumours; conjunctival lesions, trudiaris, corneal neovascularisations and others. A patient who had been wearing contact lenses for over a year presented with redness and discomfort in the left eye. A diagnosis of Corneal Herpetic Ulcer was entertained and the patient placed on antiviral therapy. There was no response to therapy. Tissue sample obtained from corneal scraping was plated on non-nutrient agar with E coli. The patient was treated with neomycin but there was recurrence of the keratitis resulting in corneal scarring. A penetrating keratoplasty is contemplated.(AU)

This concise presentation discusses the fitting of Toric contact lenses from the point of view of: (a) patient selection and (b) methods used to attain a stable fit such as prism ballast and truncation chamfering. These manoeuvres achieve comfortable visual function in some difficult situations. The fitting process will be discussed and a challenging case described to demonstrate the technique and result (AU)

Buscopan was administered to 62 primigravidae in labour and its effects were compared with those in a control group receiving Pethidine. There was a significant acceleration of labour in the group receiving Buscopan, but this drug was not useful in relieving labour pains (AU)
