ABSTRACT

CALYPSO (NCT02435212), a randomized, open-label, multicenter, phase 2 study evaluated the compliance, clinical benefits, and safety of deferasirox granules and dispersible tablets in pediatric patients with iron overload. Iron chelation therapy-naive and iron chelation therapy-pre-treated patients aged 2 to 0.5 mg/mg; 24.5% and 34.2%), upper respiratory tract infection (28.2% and 29.7%), and pyrexia (26.4% and 23.4%). In iron chelation therapy-naive patients, mean compliance and change from baseline in serum ferritin with both deferasirox formulations were not significantly different. The safety profile was comparable between granule and dispersible tablets formulations, and was consistent with the general safety profile of deferasirox.

ABSTRACT

OBJETIVO: mapear as evidências científicas disponíveis sobre as competências de enfermeiros no combate à Covid-19. MÉTODO: revisão de escopo, com estratégia de busca realizada nas bases de dados MEDLINE; Scopus; CINAHL; WOS; LILACS; BDENF; IBECS, assim como nas listas de referências das fontes utilizadas, agrupadas no software Rayyan, cujas duplicatas foram removidas. A extração e análise dos dados recuperados foram realizados por revisores independentes. RESULTADOS: a amostra final foi composta por 11 artigos. As competências foram descritas em três categorias conceituais definidas no marco de competências para enfermeira generalista do Conselho Internacional de Enfermeiras. CONCLUSÃO: os resultados identificados podem auxiliar na construção de novas diretrizes, visando melhorias da assistência de enfermagem em tempos de pandemia.


OBJECTIVE: to map the available scientific evidence on nurses' competencies in the fight against Covid-19. METHOD: this is a scoping review, with a search strategy performed in MEDLINE, Scopus, CINAHL, WOS, LILACS, BDENF, IBECS, and in the reference lists of the sources used, grouped in the Rayyan software, whose duplicates were removed. Independent reviewers performed the extraction and analysis of retrieved data. RESULTS: the final sample consisted of 11 articles. Competencies were described in three conceptual categories defined in the International Council of Nurses framework of competencies for general nurses. CONCLUSION: the results identified can help construct new guidelines aiming at improving nursing care during pandemics.

ABSTRACT

Objetivo: El objetivo del presente trabajo fue describir la percepción del nivel de competencias en relación con el entorno de aprendizaje práctico, por estudiantes de enfermería de Uruguay. Material y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo, transversal interviniendo 33 estudiantes del último ciclo de Facultad de Enfermería de Universidad de la República y Universidad Católica del Uruguay. Los datos se recolectaron en el año 2013 utilizando dos instrumentos previamente validados, el Nurse Competence Scale y el Practice Environment Scale-Nursing Work Index. Resultados: El nivel global de competencias percibido por los estudiantes es Muy Bueno (76.97; VAS: 0-100). La dimensión autoevaluada como más alta fue Rol de Trabajo. La frecuencia de utilización de competencias se ubicó en su mayoría (84.8%) entre utilizadas "muy a menudo" y "ocasionalmente". El entorno se evaluó mayormente como no favorable (54.5% en desacuerdo). No se pudo establecer relación entre competencias y entorno para la muestra estudiada. Conclusiones: Los estudiantes avanzados tienen un muy buen nivel de competencias. La autoevaluación, a través de instrumentos como el NCS, es una herramienta fundamental para la evaluación de las competencias alcanzadas. Es imprescindible continuar investigando acerca del entorno y otros factores que puedan influir en las competencias (AU)


Objective: The aim of this study was to describe the competence level, according to the clinical learning environment, in nursing students from Uruguay. Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive study was made, including 33 pregraduating students from Facultad de Enfermería de la Universidad de la República and Universidad Católica del Uruguay. The data were collected during 2013 using two self-administered instruments, the Nurse Competence Scale (NCS) and the Practice Environment Scale-Nursing Work Index (PES-NWI). Results: The overall competence was on very good level (76.97; VAS: 0-100). The competence was highest in work role and all of the competences were mostly used (84.8%) "very often" and "ocassionally". The environment was mainly perceived as unsupportive (54.5% disagree). We could not find a significant relationship between competences and environment for this sample. Conclusion: Pre-graduating students have a very good level of competence. The self-assessment, using instruments as the NCS, is a very important tool to evaluate the competence achievements. It is necessary to keep on searching about the environment and other factors that could be related to competences (AU)

ABSTRACT

A freqüência de gestantes portadoras de próteses valvares cardíacas tem aumentado nos últimos anos em decorrência dos recentes progressos de cirurgia cardíaca. Assim, tem-se observado entre estas pacientes, complicaçöes tanto maternas como fetais, devido à prótese valvar ou ao uso de anticoagulantes. Os autores apresentam dois casos de disfunçäo de prótese valvar cardíaca no ciclo gravídico-puerperal ocorridos entre outubro de 1981 e novembro de 1982 entre seis grávidas com próteses valvares, pacientes atendidas na Escola Paulista de Medicina. As complicaçöes valvares apesar de näo serem demasiadamente freqüentes, säo de grande gravidade, podendo em algumas circunstâncias ser fatal para a mäe ou para o concepto. Desta forma, impôs-se um controle médico e laboratorial mais rigoroso para estas pacientes a fim de que estas complicaçöes sejam diagnosticadas e tratadas o mais precoce possível
