ABSTRACT

The adaptation effect of hyperbaric oxygenation (3.0 Ata for 60 min) on white rats and mice with acute serum sickness is due to stimulation of non-pathogenic circulating immune complexes which do not fix the complement nor induce immune injuries to the kidneys. This promotes recovery of nephron ultrafiltration and decreases proteinuria. Hyperbaric oxygenation stimulates immunity in endotoxin shock by activating the humoral immunity and specific immune response.

ABSTRACT

Analysis of the lacrimal fluid of normal subjects and patients after cataract extraction and with penetrating wounds of the eyeball showed fluctuations of the R protein concentration, which depended on the type of the injury and its complications. The authors propose using measurements of R protein in the lacrimal fluid as a prognostic criterion predicting the development of infectious complications in penetrating wounds of the eyeball.

ABSTRACT

On the basis of rats' experiments under conditions of HBO a close relationship was established between the intensity of immune processes and peroxide oxidation of lipids (POL). The study enabled to show a connection between immunoreactivity stimulation in spleen cells and certain levels of POL intensity and anti-oxidation protection as well. There were assessed diverse HBO effects on intact and immune organism and hyperbaric dependence of immunodepression on POL's intensification.

ABSTRACT

The findings of a cytologic study of the gingival fluid in patients with gingivitis and periodontitis have revealed differences in the cellular composition of the gingival fluid in normal subjects and patients with gingivitis and periodontitis. This recommends such studies for the diagnosis of inflammatory diseases of the periodontium and for the differential diagnosis between gingivitis and periodontitis.
