The Little Harlequin Katydid-a new species of Paraxiphidium Redtenbacher, 1891 (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Conocephalinae; Conocephalini) from the Amazonian Rainforest.

Paraxiphidium is a genus of flashy Neotropical katydids belonging to Conocephalini. Paraxiphidium iriodes sp. nov. is described from the Brazilian Amazon region. This is the first record of the genus for Brazil. The description of stridulatory file, male internal genitalia and data on natural history is provided. A key is included to the species of the group and a map with the geographical records completes the paper.

Two new genera of predatory katydids (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Meconematinae) from the Amazon rainforest.

Meconematinae comprise small predatory katydids. There are currently seven genera and 58 species recorded for the Neotropical region. Two new genera of Phlugidini are described from the Amazon region, Arboraptor gen. nov., type species Arboraptor viridis sp. nov., and Tyrannoraptor gen. nov., type species Tyrannoraptor arboreus (Nickle, 2003) n. comb. A key to the Neotropical genera of Phlugidini is included and we provide a map showing the known distribution plus comments on their behavior observed during fieldwork.
