ABSTRACT

El Colegio de Farmacéuticos de Asturias, con la colaboración de las Autoridades Sanitarias, inició en 2004, el «Programa colegial para la promoción del buen uso de antibióticos». Objetivo: Promover el uso adecuado de los antibióticos, mediante formación e información a profesionales sanitarios y usuarios. Sujetos y métodos: Acciones dirigidas a usuarios y profesionales. Adhesión institucional del Colegio al Programa Nacional de Atención Farmacéutica sobre Uso Racional de Antibióticos (El Correo Farmacéutico). Resultados: En 2004, 1 conferencia formativa, 2 números del boletín informativo del Centro de Información de Medicamentos colegial. 9 talleres de dispensación activa de antibióticos, con asistencia de 179 farmacéuticos. A la encuesta de satisfacción realizada contestaron el 41,34%, con puntuaciones medias mayores de 4, sobre 5. En febrero de 2005, presentación pública del Programa con participación de la administración sanitaria regional, representantes de sociedades científicas y colegios profesionales colaboradores. Se celebraron 3 mesas redondas informativas. Se colocaron 1200 carteles, se repartieron 40.000 dípticos y 90.000 pegatinas. En la encuesta de opinión sobre el Programa a los 452 titulares de farmacia asturianos (porcentaje de respuesta 28,08%) sólo el 4% lo consideraron no efectivo. En 2006, acciones dirigidas a usuarios: 21 charlas por toda Asturias, impartidas por 29 farmacéuticos, con una asistencia superior a 500 personas. Discusión y conclusiones: El Programa hasta ahora ha incidido en la necesidad de receta para dispensar antibióticos, intentando simultáneamente concienciar a los usuarios de su responsabilidad al respecto. Para 2007, se prevé una nueva fase, dirigida a fomentar el cumplimiento terapéutico en tratamientos con antibióticos (AU)


Since 2004, Pharmaceutical Association of Asturias has been developing an institutional «Program to promote the adequate use of antibiotics». Objective: Promoting the rational use of antibiotics by continuing education and information activities directed to professionals and patients. Methods: Activities directed to patients and professionals. Also, Pharmaceutical Association of Asturias adhered to National Program of Pharmaceutical Care on the rational use of antibiotics (El Correo Farmacéutico). Results: During 2004, one lecture was celebrated; two issues of the bulletin of the Drug Information Centre of the Pharmaceutical Association of Asturias focused on the use antibiotics. 179 community pharmacist attended to nine workshops that were carried out to teach the dispensing process of antibiotics, and 41,34% complete/answer a satisfaction questionnaire. Mean scores in all items were above 4 (scale from 0 to 5). In February 2005, the Program was presented to the public and the regional media. Regional health authorities and adhered scientific societies and health professionals associations attended the session. Three informative «round tables» about rational use of antibiotics were holded on. 1200 posters were distributed to pharmacies, hospitals and other health centres, 40.000 leaflets and 90.000 labels. The 452 Asturian community pharmacists, were surveyed about the Program (response rate 28,08%) and only 4% considered it ineffective. In 2006, activities were directed to the public. 29 community pharmacists gave 21 informative sessions to more than 500 people. Discussion and conclusions: Till now, the Program has emphasised the need of a prescription to dispense antibiotics in order to make the public aware of his own responsibility about this. In 2007, a new phase will be undertaken, with focus on promoting patient's adherence to antibiotic treatments (AU)
