ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has brought about an unprecedented crisis, taking a heavy toll on human health, lives as well as the global economy. There are no SARS-CoV-2-specific treatments or vaccines available due to the novelty of this virus. Hence, rapid development of effective vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 is urgently needed. Here we developed a pilot-scale production of a purified inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus vaccine candidate (PiCoVacc), which induced SARS-CoV-2-specific neutralizing antibodies in mice, rats and non-human primates. These antibodies potently neutralized 10 representative SARS-CoV-2 strains, indicative of a possible broader neutralizing ability against SARS-CoV-2 strains circulating worldwide. Immunization with two different doses (3g or 6 g per dose) provided partial or complete protection in macaques against SARS-CoV-2 challenge, respectively, without any antibody-dependent enhancement of infection. Systematic evaluation of PiCoVacc via monitoring clinical signs, hematological and biochemical index, and histophathological analysis in macaques suggests that it is safe. These data support the rapid clinical development of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines for humans. One Sentence SummaryA purified inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus vaccine candidate (PiCoVacc) confers complete protection in non-human primates against SARS-CoV-2 strains circulating worldwide by eliciting potent humoral responses devoid of immunopathology

ABSTRACT

Objective To develop a kind of new machine for making animal model for pressure ulcer, and inspect its effect through experiments,in order to lay the foundation for the research of pressure ulcer experiments on animals. Methods This study developed the machine after reviewing the domestic and foreign literature, making full use of the existing experimental platform of our university. Then 55 Sprague Dawley(SD) rats were selected, after anesthesia and the skin preparation, the researchers imposed certain pressure with 70 mmHg/cm2 (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa) on the skin and muscle tissue on the inner left thigh of SD rats by using self-designed machine, pressing for 2 h,then reperfusion for 30 min,3 times a day,a total of 7 days. Results The authors developed a kind of new machine for making animal model for pressure ulcer, and successfully prepared Ⅲ phase pressure ulcers model in SD rats with success rate of 98.2%(54/55).Conclusion This machine can prepare Ⅲ phase pressure ulcers model on animals,it's easy to use and efficient,it can be used for researches in the field of prevention and cure of pressure ulcers.

ABSTRACT

@# Objective To investigate the requirment of family rehabilitation training and provide instructions and references to guide parents practising family rehabilitation training for cerebral palsy (CP) children in Shanghai.Methods300 CP children were surveyed with the Requirement Questionnaire of Family Guidance Training Program of Rehabilitation for Cerebral Palsy Children. Then 100 children out of them were selected randomly and a visiting training and guidance of rehabilitation in family was afforded.ResultsAfter providing training and guidance of rehabilitation in family, the requirement of family rehabilitation increased from 41.5% to 92.7% ( P<0.01) and the duration and the times of training were also increased ( P<0.01).ConclusionThe families having CP children in Shanghai don't understand fully about the family rehabilitation. The visiting training and guidance program will be helpful for CP children having complete rehabilitation and coming back to society.
