ABSTRACT
Os defeitos congênitos identificados como fissuras labiopalatais são comuns entre as malformações que atingem a face do ser humano, ocorrendo com uma prevalência média entre 1 e 2 indivíduos brancos para cada 1000 nascimentos. As crianças portadoras destas malformações possuem comprometimento anatômico facial, que pode impedir ou dificultar a realização de importantes funções, entre elas, o aleitamento materno. O presente artigo propõe uma revisão dos possíveis fatores que interagem na amamentação, bem como das técnicas, dispositivos e posturas especiais que podem auxiliar na realização do aleitamento materno nos pacientes com fissura labiopalatal.
The defects identified as cleft lip and palate are common among the malformations affecting the face of human beings, occurring with a prevalence between 1 and 2 whites for every 1000 births. Children with these malformations have anatomic facial, which may prevent or hinder the achievement of important functions, among them, breastfeeding. This article proposes a review of possible factors that interact with breastfeeding, as well as the techniques, devices and special postures that can assist in the implementation of breastfeeding in patients with cleft lip and palate.
