ABSTRACT

A retrospective clinico-morphological analysis of a 10 years follow-up study of 57 patients with chronic active hepatitis of viral etiology undergoing surgical stimulation of liver regeneration revealed that the effect of this procedure was good in 29 cases, fair in 16 cases and unsatisfactory in 12 cases. It is concluded that the effect depended on the form of disorder of the intracellular regeneration of hepatocytes.
