[The role of heredity in the prevalence of arterial hypertension and its risk factors]. / Rol' nasledstvennosti v rasprostranennosti arterial'noi gipertenzii i ee faktorov riska.

Studied in the rural population both men and women residing in the territories of Chernigov Province was prevalence of aggravated heredity in respect of myocardial infarction, cerebral insult, arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and sudden non-murderous death. More frequently encountered in the above population is aggravated heredity in respect to arterial hypertension, with significant predominance being recordable of maternal-lineage heredity. The prevalence of arterial hypertension in probands with hereditary aggravation is much greater than in the population, especially so among women. Positive correlation was disclosed between arterial hypertension with excess consumption of table salt and overweight in probands with hereditary aggravation.

[Food risk factors and arterial hypertension in a rural population of Chernigov Province]. / Pishchevye faktory riska arterial'noi gipertenzii v sel'skoi populiatsii Chernigovshchiny.

The prevalence of consumption of foodstuffs in the rural population of Chernigov Province was studied as were aspects of diet among the population depending on the presence of arterial hypertension (AH), for which purpose a special questionnaire was used permitting the objective assessment to be carried out of the character of nutrition. Most prevalent among the rural population is consumption of predominantly animal fat, eggs, sour-milk foodstuffs, sugar, and legumina. In AH patients, a not-rational diet is manifested by a high consumption of saturated fats and inadequate intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamines, and mineral substance.

[The prevalence of arterial hypertension in different types of dyslipidemia in various age groups]. / Rasprostranennost' arterial'noi gipertenzii pri razlichnykh tipakh dislipidemii v raznykh vozrastnykh gruppakh.

Prevalence was studied of different types of dyslipidemias in men and women aged 25 to 74 years. The rural population of Chernigov Province have high incidence rate of hypoalphacholesterinemia, especially so at the ages 45 to 54 years as well as hypercholesterinemia in women of all age groups. Men were found to be affected by arterial hypertension twice as frequently as women. It was significantly more commonly seen in women with hypercholesterinemia as well as in men and women with hypertriglyceridemia.

[Comparative study of the immunogenicity of various forms of Naja oxiana cardiotoxin]. / Sravnitel'noe izuchenie immunogennosti razlichnykh form kardiotoksina sredneaziatskoi kobry.

Comparative study of the immune sera from rabbits immunized with both formol and native cardiotoxins, cardiotoxin incorporated into sphingomyelin-phosphatidylcholine-cholesterol liposome stabilized with osmium tetroxide, and a cardiotoxin-succinylated bovine albumin conjugate was performed. The latter produced antibodies identified by immunodiffusion assay. The highest survival was observed in animals treated with antiserum to cardiotoxin-albumin conjugate, followed by antitoxin to combination of formol and native cardiotoxins. Antiserum to cardiotoxin in liposome was ineffective.
