ABSTRACT
THE AIM OF THE STUDY: Was to evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic and preventive measures for children aged 10-12 years with varying degrees of caries intensity and enamel resistance. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study comprised 308 children. We used the WHO technique (DMFT) for examining children, a hardware method for detecting foci of enamel demineralization, which were recorded using the ICDAS II system. The level of enamel resistance was determined using the enamel resistance test. Three groups of children were formed depending on the intensity of caries: group 1 - DMFT = 0 (100 people); group 2 - DMFT =1-2 (104 people); group 3 - DMFT ≥3 (104 people). Each of the groups was divided into 4 subgroups depending on the use of therapeutic and prophylactic agents. RESULTS: After carrying out therapeutic and preventive measures for 12 months, it was possible to reduce the number of foci of enamel demineralization by 23.26% and avoid the formation of new carious cavities. CONCLUSION: The planning of therapeutic and preventive measures should be personalized depending on the degree of intensity of caries and the level of resistance of tooth enamel.

The aim of this study was to assess and compare the discomfort levels during Atraumatic Restorative Treatment and Minimal Cavity Preparation using rotary instruments and Air abrasion method. The results of the study suggest that ART induces less discomfort, therefore this method can be recommended for children who have a fear of dental procedures as well as for children with intellectual disabilities.

Oral hygiene in children living in orphan institutions is inadequate. Clinical and remineralising effect of various toothpastes was investigated in orphan children. This paper compares the results of toothpastes with fluoride, calcium and calcium-fluoride complex: "Brilard Professional. Best Friends", "Brilard Calcium ion", "The Tooth Fairy. Fluoride", "New Pearl. Calcium". Significant improvement of hygiene indices and reduction of periodontal inflammation was determined. The study proved the method of controlled tooth brushing to be highly effective in institutions for orphans.

The examination of hard tissues, periodontal and hygiene indices was conducted in 56 patients to determine the efficacy of toothpastes with natural compounds. According to the results, the natural compounds did not alter the color of the hard tissues, but also improved the hygienic status and lessened the periodontal inflammation manifestation in the oral cavity.

Epidemiological studies show that the level of dental care for children-orphans in institutions inadequate. Dominated by untreated and remote carious permanent teeth. If the traditional dental treatment difficult to implement need to develop special programs for the prevention of dental caries.

This paper deals with some aspects of using radiographic methods in dental implantology. Analysis of the published data and their own findings have brought the authors to the conclusion that the most widely used method involved is a panoramic technique; however, CT scan is required in some cases demanding accurate measurements; which, at the stage of preoperative planning, enables us to specify surgical indications and choose the optimal form of implants.
