ABSTRACT

Use of enterosorption in 58 patients with diabetes mellitus of different severity grades allowed to establish that a course of treatment with SKN sorbents resulted in an increase of the tolerance to physical load, improvement of myocardial hemodynamics after veloergometric loads. This was evidenced by an increased volume of work performed on the veloergometer, reduction of the index of energy expenditures of the heart coefficient of expenditures of the myocardial reserves. The used enterosorbents produced a hypotensive effect. Enterosorption furthers increase of tolerance to physical load in a relatively short time period--10 days. During this time traditional treatment including sugar-reducing agents, angio- and hematoprotectors did not result in essential changes of hemodynamic indices.

ABSTRACT

Indices of thrombocytic hemostasis were determined in 40 patients with diabetic glomerulosclerosis. It was found that patients suffering of diabetic glomerulosclerosis with chronic renal insufficiency showed signs of hypercoagulemia while changes of the thrombocytic hemostasis become of diverse values. There was a high correlation of hemostasis changes and clinical manifestations of diabetes mellitus and diabetic glomerulosclerosis. Three tests are recommended for treatment choice: hemolysate-aggregation test, determination of soluble complexes of monomer fibrin and fibrin-splitting product.

ABSTRACT

A study is presented of the effect of carbon-containing sorbents on the state of the central and peripheral hemodynamics in patients with diabetes mellitus. It was established that a 10-day's course of enterosorption improved the peripheral and central hemodynamics that was manifested by an increase of the stroke and minute blood volume while the peripheral resistance reduced. Simultaneously the volume of work at the veloergometer increased.

ABSTRACT

A decrease in the concentration of high density cholesterol lipoproteins (HDCSLP) and an increase in the atherogeny index were observed in patients with diabetes mellitus, regardless the sex and age. The blood HDCSLP content is lower in males, suffering from the II and III stage ischemic heart disease, aggravated by diabetes mellitus comparatively to that of the females. Diabetes mellitus compensation promotes HDCSLP rising, nevertheless not acquiring the control level.

ABSTRACT

In patients with diabetes mellitus, the processes of lipid peroxidation are activated and the system of antioxidants is disturbed (the content of reduced glutathione and red cell glutathione reductase is lowered and red cell glutathione peroxidase activity is heightened). At the same time the patients demonstrate high concentration of sterols bound by fibrinogen, a considerable lowering of cholesterol content in high density lipoproteins having an antiiatrogenic action. The alterations found underlie the development of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.

ABSTRACT

Changes in the myocardial contractile function were studied in 44 patients with diabetes mellitus by phasic analysis of the systole of the left ventricle, depending on the level and marked variations in glycemia in the course of 24 hours. The most pronounced phasic shifts by the 1 type of hypodynamia, pointing to reduction of the myocardial contractile function, were revealed in prolonged hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, and a sharp fall of the blood sugar level at the period of marked 24-hour variations in glycemia. The results of investigations substantiated the fact that stable compensation of diabetes served as the active prophylactic measure of cardiovascular affections in this disease.
