ABSTRACT

Four new diastereoisomeric neolignan glycosides (1-4) along with nine known lignan glycosides (5-13) were isolated from the root bark of Lycium chinense Mill. Their structures with absolute configurations were elucidated on the basis of NMR spectroscopy, ECD, Mo2(OAc)4-induced ECD spectra, enzymatic hydrolysis and acid hydrolysis. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Compounds 8 and 13 exhibited moderate inhibitory activities against α-glucosidase with IC50 values of 26.82 ± 2.71 and 43.14 ± 2.81 µg/mL.

ABSTRACT

The study on the targets of traditional Chinese medicine is an important part of researchers using modern scientific language to clarify the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine. However, the research on the targets of Chinese medicine is full of challenges due to the complexity of active ingredients. As a branch of systems biology, proteomics focus on specific proteins in living organisms from a holistic perspective, which significantly improves the efficiency of targets discovery and has obvious advantages in the research of targets of Chinese medicine. Based on relevant literature and different methods used in targets of Chinese medicine, proteomics can be divided into chemical proteomics, differential proteomics and quantitative proteomics. The applications of the above three methods are illustrated in this paper as well, which will provide new methods and ideas for the study of the mechanism of Chinese medicine in the future.

ABSTRACT

Chromones are a group of compounds widely distributed in nature with wide range of biological activities, including antitumor, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and so on. This review mainly summarizes chromones with antitumor activity in nature and classifies them into three groups, including chromanones, simple chromones, and fused chromones. They exhibit antitumor activity through broad range of mechanisms including cytotoxicity, antimetastasis, antiangiogenesis, chemoprevention, immune regulation, etc.
