ABSTRACT

The authors present data on hygienic evaluation of work conditions in industries associated with production of new composition materials of crystallic and amorphous structure. The article covers results of toxicologic experiments and evaluation of workers' health through medical examination results and transitory disablement morbidity. Research justify maximal allowable concentrations of composition materials and sanative recommendations for optimal work conditions. The authors also tackle evaluation of the measures efficiency in industry development.

ABSTRACT

Based on longstanding research, the authors present hygienic evaluation of work conditions and health state of female solderers and low temperature soldering assemblers. The findings are that the main occupational hazard is air pollution with aerosol produced in release of solder particles. The authors demonstrate data of toxicologic experiments and justify hygienic standards for lead-tin and lead-cadmium solders in air of workplace. The article covers results on health state of female solderers' newborns.

ABSTRACT

The authors present basic science for, elaborate and set as methodic recommendations some potentiometric methods using ion-selective electrodes. Efficiency of those methods was proved in experiments with such substances as boron compounds, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen chloride. High sensitivity, selectivity, accuracy and rapidity of the methods with handy technique make the facilities available for analysis of air at workplace, ambient atmosphere, water and biologic materials, detecting wide range of concentrations. Practical application of the methods enabled to specify measures to preserve health of workers and general population, helped in hygienic evaluation of work conditions in composition materials production, high-temperature soldering, optic glass industry.

ABSTRACT

The proposed article provides data on labour conditions assessment in radio items processing and characteristics of major unfavourable factors, e.i. air contamination, degrees of illumination, noise, temperature and labour intensity. Expounded are different degrees of the involvement of all these factors depending on the automatization level. Health related labour conditions improvement measures are substantiated and given detailed descriptions.

ABSTRACT

The hygienic studies revealed that one of the most unfavourable factors in permanent magnet production is presented by the composite dust of cobalt and samarium. The toxico-hygienic assessment of the composite determined its MAC in the working zone air at the level 0.05 mg/m3 (as to cobalt).

ABSTRACT

The data are presented on the conditions and the character of work when manufacturing samarium- and cobalt-based permanent magnets. Major unfavourable factors of samarium/cobalt-containing dusts are stressed, the chemical and disperse dust composition being described. Highlighted is the necessity of developing a set of preventive measures.
